Multiple fights and events made a whirlwind weekend. The Pittsburgh Penguins Playoffs, Spadafora's Card, The NFL Draft, and Sunday's Card at Mountaineer Casino featuring Verquan Kimbrough and Brian Minto filled a fast 72 Hours.
The Acri Promotions card at the Avalon Hotel turned out to be worth the 2 and a half hour drive! While many fighters didnt have impressive records they were competitive matchups. This card was more entertaining than what took place at Mountaineer on Sunday. Pictures still to come!!!
Spadafora still showed flashes of his ability and good aggressivnes while landing his left hand with precision accuracy. It was only an 8 round fight and appearances indicate he needs more activity while continuing to turn up the conditioning. Spadafora used speed and combinations to befuddle and control his opponent winning every round. This was hopefully another step in the right direction. Talent is still evident but the years of inconsistent activity must be shaken off to sharpen him back to the World Title Stage. Perhaps two or three opponents and increasing opposition level would be a recipe for success as he try's to regain his status in a very good 140lb division.
Anatoliy Dudchenko ([Only registered and activated users can see links])LRonson Frank ([Only registered and activated users can see links])PTS6
The Ukranian Dudchenko lost over 6 rounds to his 10-0 opponent Ronson Frank. This fight was notable for dirty tricks, point deductions, and the most disputed decision. Dudchenko fought the dirtiest fight I've seen in the past year or so. He basically cost himself the fightand could well have been DQ'd in the first round. After a punch and a push which sent his opponent to the canvas, Dudchenko capitalized with an illegal uppercut. The referee also took point deductions in the next two rounds. Many fans at ringside booed the decision as it was a close contest.
Andres Taylor ([Only registered and activated users can see links])WRyan Thompson ([Only registered and activated users can see links])UD4
Taylor put on a decent Pro debut using superior boxing skills to control rounds. Taylor had a decent group of fans that turned out to see him and he didnt disappoint.
Zack Page ([Only registered and activated users can see links])WCharles Brown ([Only registered and activated users can see links])PTS
Zack Page gutted out a slightly "Emanuel Agustus'esue" 4 round victory over a one dimensional an come forward Brown.
Otgonbayer Daivii ([Only registered and activated users can see links])DJosh Harris ([Only registered and activated users can see links])PTS4
This decision was puzzling and marred what was a very good fight bewteen these two. Harris had a skill edge and Daivii showed a lions heart. Harris clearly should have won on points in a fight where they busted each other up.
