Well, the odds I'm seeing for a KO in this fight are about 4 or 5 to 1.
But just a question. Where do you rank Hopkins all-time if he KO's Winky in an impressive style?
Or, if you want, where does a KO win put Winky?

5 to 1 on a knockout? I wouldn't waste a dime if the odds were 20 to 1.

Well he wont, so so much for the speculation.

Well considering Winky is a natural 154-pounder and has never fought over 160 pounds I don't think it would be crazy to see Bernard stop him...
On the other hand, Hopkins is 42 years old and hasn't beat a top-rated fighter in their prime since beating ODLH in 2004 so I wouldn't be surprised to see Winky stop him...
Basically this is two over the hill, defense-first guys with little power and it shouldn't be on PPV - I doubt there will be a knockout.
What are you talking about his last 4 fights were at 160!:patsch

All bullshit aside, Hopkins has a 50% chance of KOing Wright if he keeps a solid workrate up. I don't see Wright being anywhere in this fight either, it will be a Hopkins wide UD by my estimation.

If Bernard can beat Winky it would be something incredible.

Man, you guys are all very cynical and not very imaginative. I didn't ask whether you thought this would be a shit borefest - everyone knows that's very likely. I'm just trying to liven things up a little bit on the admittedly very odd chance that amazing could happen. Jeez.

It was a good question, Scientist. Don't let the responses get you down.
I think a KO win for him would raise his standing even further. Stopping a pound for pound guy at the age of 42 would be incredible.
Winky stopping Bernard would be a nice feather in Winky's cap, especially since Hop is still considered formidable (even at his age) and has never been stopped.
I am not expecting a KO, but I think this will be a better fight than a lot of people are predicting.

That's a bold prediction, I got Wright winning by UD. I'll probably make a small play on the draw too.

It's not a bold prediction, based on styles, size and historical statistics, Hops should easily control Wright all night and at the very least win a 117-111 score.
When you have a fighter who has a history of a hard time with movers, and one who has to plant to get off his best work, that's not going to work at all vs. Hopkins.
I've got quite a bit on this one, like I had quite a bit on Williams beating horrible Margarito by a wide decision.:hey

It's bold when you say there's a 50% chance of Hopkins knocking out Wright. Wright will be the more active fighter thus the judges giving him the fight. Even though I thought Hopkins beat Taylor both times, the judges were more impressed with Taylors aggressiveness, that's what I see in this fight. Besides, you don't know how a 42 year old fighter is going to look like coming off a 13 month layoff.

Wasn't it the De La Hoya ?
This will be a cautious, safety first, gay ass Golden Boy Promotions Rip off, between two defensive technicians, more concerned with not getting hit, than with giving the fans a real fight. Arturo Gatti needs to provide a semen sample in a cup, and have a scientist mix it in an elixir, and maybe these two assholes, upon driniking it, will want to mix it up, instead of waiting entire rounds to find openings where there are none.
Wow you didn't post about Oscar and it was still one of the stupidest comments I have read in a while. These guys are awesome technicians. If you can't appreciate it then maybe boxing isn't for you. I think a tough man contest might be more up your alley. Obviously a KO isn't going to happen short of a miracle, but it doesn't mean it won't be a fast paced and interesting fight. Too many people have this perception that Winky Wright is a defensive fighter. He throws a lot of punches, he just isn't a power puncher thats all. He always fights at a world class pace as well. Just because he doesn't get the KO's doesnt mean he is boring by any stretch.
