amir khan yet to be proven.

It pisses me off when people rag on a fighters chin, if they cant take a punch it has nothing to do with them, its a god given gift if you can take a punch and its unfortunate if you cant, its like making fun of a fighter because hes short its just fucking dumb and I dont see why some of the more intelligent posters focus on this, man just let it be.
If a guy doesnt train, or is an arrogant fuck who boasts about being the best then gets KO'd then sure make fun all you like but its stupid to rag on a fighter just for this one thing, they cant do anything about it :patsch like Amir Khan, fucking hell hes 20!! and ive heard people call him a joke?!?!:dead

That's a good point; it's very hard to 'train' a chin.
But you can point out when a guy doesn't have a great chin, just like you can point out when a guy doesn't have a good jab. I don't think that's unfair.
Khan is definitely not a joke. He has a lot of talent. I mean, Lewis' chin didn't stop him from becomming what some consider to be a top-10 all-timer. He's just going to have to work with it, I think.

Totally agree. Manny Steward maximized Lewis' talents and covered up his weaknesses. Unlike, say, a Buddy McGirt does with the guys he trains.
Which is why I have no idea why Jermaine Taylor won't listen to Manny Steward.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]
It wasn't long after this fight that Manny Steward really taught Len the 'jab-and- grab' technique necessary to cover-up for his lack of a sturdy jaw. And it worked. So I'm sure Khan can do the same thing.

2 knockdowns in a twenty year career indicates nothing but a sturdy chin.
It indicates a guy who was smart enough to change his style in order to protect a weakness.
Lennox wasn't dumb; he knew he needed to take measures to avoid taking shots he couldn't handle. Manny Steward gave him the tools to do it, and he did it. Kudos to him.
The problem for the glass-jawed Khan is he doesn't have the natural size advantages that Lenny had as a heavyweight. That is, he isn't 4-5" taller than most guys and doesn't outweigh them by 30 pounds or have a much greater reach, so it's going to be a lot tougher for him to use 'jab-and-grab' like LL did so well.

The glaring, to use your description, hole in your arguement is that if there was such a huge weakness then why did it not get exposed until long into LL's career. Unlike Khan who is facing featherdusters LL faced and beat all until these complacent efforts. That is what it is - complacency not chin. Train easy - fight hard.

You gotta be kidding. When you're fighting the Tyrell Biggs of the world, your jaw isn't going to be tested. Len was smart enough to take guys who could hurt him (like Ruddock) out quickly, but since at least Bruno people knew he had no chin. And then McCall just proved it to the world. LL never had a chin, which led to moments like this:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
So after Lewis got 1-punch KO'd against McCall, he started to hold more, like Steward taught him to. You'll see a ton of that technique against Holyfield and Tua, especially. Also some against Briggs, who was another who wobbled Leggy Lenny.
I guess while Lewis was filiming Ocean's 11 he got too full of himself and forgot the piece of china at the bottom of his face. Rahman soon reminded him. After that fight, back to jab-and-grab and use his size and height against Tyson and others.
Hey, it worked. You have to know your weaknesses.

LOL - and this is where you are going all wrong. This is not a debating board it is a discussion board. But there is plenty little of discussion with yourself as your single minded aim, that taints all your posts, is to denigrate a particular fighter.
It is sad to see self professed fans carry on like fools as though their internet crusade means a damm to anyone - the fact that you are getting used to the insult's really means that you are oblivious to the interesting things happening in the boxing world. We just had a weekend of great fight yet your focused on a great fighter who is well retired with millions in the bank, beautiful wife, child and home and whom is given, not demands, respect worldwide from everyone in the industry. I am sure LL sits up at night and wonders about your indepth knowledge of his career.

Or don't you regard a man with 38 KOs in 40 wins as a genuine banger? Gary Mason had 34 KOs in 37 wins. Perhaps because he retired with eye retina issues soon after the Lewis fight you've never heard of him? Mike Weaver, an oft beaten veteran but whatever else the man could punch.
Enough of this Lewis 'glass jaw' shit already. Lewis had an average chin at world class level. You simply do not go 14 years with just 2 knockdowns if you have a glass jaw, unless your name is Willie Pep or Pernell Whitaker. Last time I checked Lewis was neither.

Lennox Lewis?? Ok, let's put it this way; if he had an "Egg Chin" then he also must have one of the Best Defenses and be the most evasive fighter in history. Here's a list of fighters he stepped in the ring with that COULDN'T crack that "egg chin". Also, please note that he fought both guys that KO'd him a second time and they didn't even make him flinch.
Ruddock
Bruno
Akinwande
Morrison

Holyfield
Tyson

Briggs

I think there are a lot of cats who really can't define actually what a glass jaw is ..

Exactly. And these fickle fans perpetuate the sheltering of fighters because it now seems the way of the world that you get more props (and cash from the perceived marketability) from beating up an endless amount of outclassed fighters whilst adding no losses in your career then working hard, rebounding from defeat to definitively avenge a loss and become undisputed once more.
A technique flaw and bad luck in one fight and complacency in another does not equal a glass jaw or even hint at it. If any of these armchair critics was hit by either of those shots or indeed any shot thrown by a pro fighter they would run for cover, never to be seen in the gym again. That is imagining they got off the couch in the first place.

No, anybody can get knocked out. That's not it.
It's getting 1-punch KO'd that really separates Lewis from the pack. Sure, there are plenty of bums who get 1-punch KO'd all the time (Fraudley Harrison), but not many 'all-timers' who have twice been 1-punch KO'd in their prime. That's where the china chin comes in. And the same goes for RJJ (although some would argue he was no longer in his prime when he got twice 1-punch KO'd).
Lewis was a very good champion, once Manny Steward taught him how to hide his chin and clinch. Before that, he was a 1-punch KO loss waiting to happen. Fortunately for him, most of the guys he fought before getting with Steward couldn't take his punches, so they never got to land anything good of their own on Sir Glass Chin. When they did (Briggs, Bruno), they shook Lewis. It wasn't the hardest thing in the world to do.
Oh, and McCall's trainer when he KO'd Lewis?
Manny Steward.
