Has David Haye made any excuses for his loss to Thompson?

I'm a fan of his and think he'll bring some excitement to the heavyweight division but the comparison between him and Holyfield seems to start at them unifying the cruiserweight division and that's it. I don't see how he's going to hang with guys who punch like Peter and Klitschko.

Infact he embraces it like the true man he is. Many great fighters have lost at the start of their career, i.e. arguello and Monzon, and look what they did.

Im not for one second saying he will match them, but fuck, people make way to big a deal out of it. I bet most of the haters have never even seen the fight. In fact, I guarantee.

In one way that fight was the most impressive I have seen Haye. He couldn't miss Thompson and was battering him from pillar to post. But when Thompson didn't fold and started landing back Haye's stamina let him down. But when all is said and done this loss was probably a blessing in disguise for Haye.

Haye came out strong but faded in round 2. Eventually he was broken down, then stopped. He says he was just gassed in the fight.

seeing as how the overwhelming amount of fighters lose at least once Haye can't really be faulted. At least he doesn't have a massive excuse
