He is not Khan's permanent trainer

Fiar play then... In that case Powell is not a bad stop gap while Khan asseses who he needs.

I take back my last comment of 'oh dear'. Powell's not to bad for one fight, but then he should genuinely look across the pond at the best out there!

I don't think there is any benefit from sacking Harrison and moving to Powell.

None at all.

its only for his next fight, just a temporary decision.

Dean Powell? Of Michael Sprott fame?

Oh dear
Powell isn't Sprotts trainer..he's his manager so he goes in the corner.
Powell is knowledgable but this is for 1 fight only. Khan will have a new trainer after that.

powell knows his stuff.

it's just a temp move so it's nothing to be getting in a fluster over.

Guess Khan & Oliver must have fallen out.....why else split up with no-one else lined up.

Smells like a failed coup.

-Oliver gets sacked

-American trainer not found

-Khan left with no trainer on the day of the press conference

-Dean Powell, who was already in his corner, is now the trainer.

It must rule Buddy McGirt out - Cos he will be at the Birmingham NEC as Paul Smith's trainer...

Reckon Khan changed his mind and decided not to go with him and to wait for a Mayweather.

It sayd he done some training in Mayweathers gym while he was out in Vegas, so maybe this could be the future....he would probably be able to get the best out of his speed etc

He's going to need a Roger Mayweather to perform good in the US ... those european traniners who aren't from the russian school of boxing haven't done much in the sport - epsecially on the championship level.

At this point in his development ... he needs an experienced trainer - that has experience on the championship level and its especially good to have a former champion in your corner - who knows what it takes inside and outside of the ring.

Roger Mayweather wouldve been perfect for Khan and wouldve tighten up his skills ... now I see Khan in the same boat as Ricky Hatton.

Roger Mayweather can't train a chin though.

Roger Mayweather can't train a chin though.

So what your saying is Mayweather shouldnt go near him because of his suspect chin?

Roger Mayweather can't train a chin though.

He can certainly teach you how to protect it
