I'm a big Margarito fan, and I do like Williams. The Margarito haters are mainly Floyd Mayweather fanboys. And they hate Margarito simply becuase ARUM hyped his man and tried to maker a fight. Fuckin 17YO mentallity these newbies have...

Margarito fans are the ones converting. They saw their boy get his ass whooped and realized he couldn't beat Floyd so they chose the guy that beat him as the guy that could now beat Floyd. It's ridiculous. Floyd would beat both.
Funny but true.

Like I asked little Pimple C, who refused to even GIVE AN ANSWER cause he's a chicken shit, who are the Margarito fans that are converting? :huh

Hey little pimple....Did you ever get back to me on all the Margarito fans who you say jumped ship?
Don't be a fuckin pus.sy who says something, then can't back it up, only to claim it again when someone ELSE tries saying it too. Makes you look like a fuckin idiot. BACK IT UP FOR ONCE! :thumbsup

Easy to say, perhaps not so easy to do!!!
Let's see primadonna Boy defend at 47 and show us how easy it is to beat Williams. He has a great opportunity to prove his legacy in a stacked WW division and I look forward to seeing it happen:good
4 the record, I picked Williams, and while i respect marg, i've never been a fan.

Are you fuckin stupid? Unlike you, some guys LIKE more then one fighter. Besides, Williams won a big fight. Are you that fuckin dumb not to realize he may have won some fans?
Either way, you said they were all leaving the Margarito bandwagon. Sorry pimple, no one left him. Now do us all a favor and go squeeze yourself.:smooch

Well? We can at least await a new list of non-offers:lol:
He seems to be 'improving: his game as they are now IN SECRET!! Like the current Hatton negoitiations. This way, its much harder to factually dispute anything:good

Sure there is...he's retired. He's going to retire between paydays, and take only the fights he wants...hopefully we'll want to see some of them.
He can wait for guys like Williams to meet their match if he wants...it's all on Lil' Floyd...what's he going to do...??? :huh

bullshit. I like Margarito and Williams. I've always like Williams. I've been a supporter of his for a long time.
And I think he's a tough fight for anyone in the welterweight division. Anyone, including Floyd. I've been saying it for a long time now.

He can retire whenever he wants, it's his life. It's just that there are so many possible matchups there to be made. And it's not like he's old or anything. He's in his prime. He retires now and stays retired, there will be a ton of 'what if's' arounf his name and legacy. Either way, I doubt ANYONE can satisfy the ego on Floyd to pay him what he thinks he's worth. My guess is most any fights w/ him will end at the negotiating table.

personaly I dont like margo and dont realy know Paul, but I hated the way they hyped margo in the making of a PBF-Marge fight

I don't dislike either fighter. I was actually impressed with Margarito's heart to keep trying to get inside on a 6'1 (he looks taller) fighter throwing 100 punches, and I was impressed by Williams heart in the 12th round, a round he has never been to, pulling it together and going for broke. I had Williams winning 8-4, but picked Margarito to win the fight.
I said it before the fight and it doesn't matter the outcome. I think no matter what PBF beats Margarito (even if he had beaten Williams). But I think Williams can and most likely will beat PBF. (Even if he had lost)
Cintron also looked rejuvenated and much leaner.

I agree, I have a feeling Williams will be the guy to beat PBF and I'm not attempting to overrate the kid. I've been saying that exact thing for some time.
I know its cliche but I'll say it anyway. Styles make fights and williams style can give pbf fits

I've been a fan of Williams ever since I first saw him fight last year. I bet money for him to beat Margie and on Monday I collected from all 3 people, so I will continue to be a fan of his. Now I have beer money for at least 2 weeks. Thanks Paul!!!

Margarito landed the much more damaging punches, but the judges had already filled out their card in advance. Talk about holding...........

I also like margo. Even though i dont support margo all that much on these boards, i am a fan and with more reason after his tremendous effort this past weekend that fell just short. i also like williams now as i had never seen him fight before. i agree though, all the fake williams fans are just pbf fanboys.

Pea, surely you can see the stylistic nightmare for mayweather that Paul Williams is. A volume punching southpaw with incredible reach. Mayweather doesn't like taking risks, and would be forced to work at a much higher rate then usual to try to get a decision against Williams. Not only this, but because of the reach of Williams, he will have a lot of difficulty negating the Williams jab, and will have to somehow get inside to land counters to get the job done. For a naturally defensive counter puncher this will be VERY TOUGH. If this fight ever happens Paul Williams would be a very live under dog. Mayweather will have to rely on his speed to pull him through, and even then he is going to have to be at his best to get the win. Williams isn't great, in fact I think Cotto would destroy him, but against the right fighter he will prove to be an absolute handful.
BTW i am definitely a Paul Williams fan and said so before the fight. I like the way he fights, and still for a tall fighter looks to change up the range on his punches, slip and move and change the pace on his shots. I think he sets up guys nicely and for a guy who had a limited amatuer career I think he has an absolute tonne of potential.

I've been a Paul Williams fan since the first fight of his that was shown in the UK which was Sharmba Mitchell. And the Margarito fight actually gained Margo some respect in my eyes as up until that point I'd let some of his fans (the obsessisve nuthugging variety) prejudice me against him.

I dont know about all that Thread starter. One fan can easily take on mutiple fighters to follow. Its not a big deal. I've seen Williams fight about 7 times and was a fan of his, on DAY ONE .

im a fan of paul and did not care about margo to much, i heard the storys about him but for me to join a bandwagon you have to be a monster in the ring with good comp not bums.the things i heard about margo and then looked at his resume i was like man what ever i will believe when he fights some one good.
i did the same thing with cotto, he did not get my full respect until he beat judah.paul showed why he is the most feared guy in the welter weights if there is a such thing as one.margo to me was never the beast he was made out to be i found him grossley overrated.
so its either margo was never that beasty or he was a beast and just ran into a monster in williams.take your pic i dont care but i know its one of the two.

Before this fight I didnt really care for either guy, I definitely like Williams now. He is an overwhelming fighter with a great work rate (105 punches per round average).

Yeah, but who cares if you throw 105 and only land 10?I think he was landing more than that but still I understand what your saying but at the end of the day its not the damage that is counted but the punches landed. Did you dissagree with the scoring of the fight? I thoug 2 judges had it dead on giving the last round to Williams to make it 7 rounds to 5.

Yeah, but who cares if you throw 105 and only land 10?
It certainly matters when the other guy is throwing 40 and landing 4. Margarito was outlanded in nearly every round. Now in some of those rounds towards the end, he got outlanded but it was close and he had the more telling shots. I gave those rounds to him. But there were some rounds where Williams, while unable to hurt Margarito, was landing so good hard combos that was snapping the head back.
