If these guys were to square off against each other, not in their primes but when they were up and coming fighters with maybe 10 - 15 fights under their belt then who takes it?

Good idea for a thread. I cant remember one like this being done.

I'd say Tyson.

He developed alot faster than Ali but when reached a physical peak he never got better. Ali developed slower than Mike (physically) but as he reached his physical peak his ring smarts compensated for his lack in physicalities.

All in all early in their careers I'd have to go with Mike, he had tier one stamina, speed power and was very focused. Ali was pretty quick too but I think his process was a little more gradual than Mike. Case in point Ali suffered more KD's pre-lay off than he did post lay off and he faced bigger punchers post layoff who hit him flush.

Tyson via KO

Green Tyson very quickly turned into prime Tyson.

Definately Tyson. Tyson was in a class by himself. I would probably favor a "green" Tyson over a "green" Holmes, a "green" Foreman, or just about any other ATG in a pre-title matchup.

Yep, I follow the consensus here going with green Tyson. He developed extraordinarily quickly in his late teens. A classic 'bright flame burning strongly but going out quickly' sort of guy.

I don't believe he would KO green Ali though...

Tyson easily.

Pit them at their respective primes and it is a different story.
