He enters as a white belt and basically dominates a black belt!

When it comes down to it, Judo is not much different in that they both end up on the ground, and BJ's ground skills are far superior to any of them.
This is the way I looked at it.

Still, a black belt should be a master at taking you down but he just had nothing for him.

Yes, but the fact that as white belt he avoided getting ippon'ed in about 15 seconds is a testament to his natural ability, and probably indicative of a pretty shitty judo blackbelt.
