Mouth guards?

I've been needing to get a new mouthpiece since the one I have doesn't fit all that great, well it doesn't really fit at all. It's the cheap double from Everlast.

I was wondering what some of your experiences have been with different brands. The two I see most oftern are the Brain-Pads and Shock Doctors. Some say they prefer a single over a double because it's easier to breath and offers about the same protection but I'm not so sure. I've never used a single and it seems like it'd be harder because there's no channel. Brain pad has a few videos on it's merits as a double but I'm not sure if it's just a lot of hype.

I was also curious about the different models between the brands. I know some folks prefer the Brain-Pad Lo-Pro+ to the regular Pro models because it's more comfortable. Is there a noticably difference in comfort, and what of protection? Thanks for taking a look.

dont go for the brain pads or the shock doctors... not worth the money by anymeans. just go for the cheap 2 dollar mouthpieces that do exactly the same thing. i have braces so i have to use a double so i cannot say which is better between a single or a double.

I like shock doctors, but you have to make sure you fit/mold them right. I have trouble breathing with a mouthpiece in, so if its not molded just right it causes me problems.

I'm sure the fit was awesome. Are the materials/construction of it any different from a regular mouthpiece? How much did it set you back?

Which model do you have? I can't think of any major advantages a brand would have over another as I'm sure the materials and construction are more or less the same. Though the Shock Doctor Gel Max has an exoskeleton "shock frame", not sure if that's marketing hype. The main issue was fit. My old mouth piece was too hard to bite into it and during sparring it'd slip around. Is it an issue to get a tight fit with your mouth guard? Is it that specific model that causes you breathing problems or anyone you put in? Fitting with the Everlast was pretty much a joke.
