the guy is going to tell us he accidentally posted twice but how can he accidentally post it twice when the second one was posted like a minute later?

I posted twice because heerko koois posted while I wasted posting, and since I didn't quote you the first time (because I thought my post would follow yours), I re-posted thinking I could delete the first post. Guess I can't, so I just negged out what I wrote with "deleted."

My friend is probably having fight party at his house since it's his birthday that weekend anyway. So more than likely I'll be watching.

close fight either way, im a big fan of both and there styles.it will be a cess match i think but winky is a busy fighter and bhop aint about to let him build up a early league i dont think.

im going with winky by ud in a good fight that could go either way.

I'm getting the fight. I have to support my Philly fighters. There's no way this fight will be worse than the first Hopkins-Taylor fight, and I actually enjoyed that fight.

So weird. I had a dream about this fight last night and I couldn't tell you why since I have no plans to watch it. Don't look to me to make some kind of otherwordly prediction because of this dream, either, because the dream made absolutely no sense. They fought the first round pretty evenly, then at the end of the round, both went to the opposite ropes, bounced off of them and bounced into each other with a chest pound like you see in basketball as a high five. But then Hopkins accidentally fell backwards and hurt his back but wanted to fight anyway. The next round, Wright put on this ridiculous giant banana outfit and started dancing around the ring and Hopkins was laughing and clapping along with him. then their respective corners started dancing in the ring. Eventually the ref, who was also having fun, asked everyone to clear out so they could continue the fight. The crowd was loving it.

The only person who didn't seem to enjoy was Larry Merchant, who said that it was Hopkin's responsibility to not hurt himself with in-ring antics and he has no one to blame but himself if it affects his performance.

So Wright took off the banana outfit, got back in the ring and started disco dancing with Hopkins dancing with him. Everybody continued to laugh and enjoy the spectacle.

No further punches were thrown.

best fight all year

Not me. This is one of THE worst possible style matchups I've ever seen. It would've been a watchable fight with a younger Hopkins but not this slowed down version that throws 15 punches a round

Well it's not available in the UK for those of us who don't pay for Sky Sports, but hopefully I can see it later. I think watching Hopkins will be entertaining; I remember being fascinated a few years ago with how he totally out-classed Howard Eastman, whom I highly esteem.

Also, if that dream came true, I think I'd pay to watch that happen!

I'll pay my ten bucks and see it at the bar. If you don't care to see these guys' styles then don't watch. Do we really need all these threads talking about how boring some people think these guys are? Christ, we get it all ready.

If Winky wins would he deserve to be considered a LHW champ? Hopkins is well past his best and won the title by beating an overated, and past his best Tarver.

Typical of the US fight scene at the moment, same old names milking the fans by fighting each other, maintaining their P4P status despite ignoring the younger fighters. Taylor-Hopkins is the only match up that breaks this mould in recent years.

Even the likes of Mayweather is in the same pattern, guys like Judah, DLH, big pay days, little risk, but the DLH fight was one of the biggets money making fights off all time, despite meaning very little as a boxing contest.

Hopkins-Wright might be an interesting fight, but in reality does it really matter when it comes to telling us who is the best at 175?

I will be watching it. IM holding a "boxing party" at the crib $10 a head. bring $5 if you plan on chipping in 4 pizza, wings soda etc. So if your in the tristate area and tryin 2 get down holla at me lol. 55inch
but yeah obviously I will be ordering this fight no doubt

this is stupid, if hopkins wins he is credited, if he loses he is old and past it?

He is 42 years old, but people persist in believing that he belongs in the P4P list.

He is old and past it, put him in against any of the younger guys at this point and as against Taylor he would be outworked to a decision. Whatever you think about the judging in those fights, the only reason he lost was because he lacked the ability to fight for 3 minutes a round.

If he beats Wright it will be a good win, but really at this stage it means very little, especially at the weight it is being held at. Big event, pales into insignificance beside Kessler/JC as a contest.

Im all for "fight partys". I usually host them at my house aswell. But, none of my friends, nor i am really excited about this particular matchup. I just dont see any "ooohs", or "aaaahs" coming from this fight. Beer, liquor, and food dont go well with a 12 round jab fest. I'll save my money for pacman, marquez bros., Cotto, Hatton, Mayweather (depending on opponent). Anyway, enjoy!

I beg to differ, I think this fight is going to be more entertaining than people think. WInky has become more offensive in his last couple of fights. I think this fight is going to urprise a lot of people. I have Hopkins winning by UD

he is a p4p top 10 fighter, if his wins count then so should his losses.

2 master craftsman

It aint gonna be no morales barrera 1 thats for sure but for pure technique & ring smarts this 1 will be hard to top.

So long as he doesnt start to feel his age, I think hopkins is the 1 guy who can school winky wright.

Hopkins ud wright

Not me. This fight means absolutely nothing. Why would I wanna see Bernard Hopkins throw 1 punch and launch himself at Winky and grab on. That's his ridiculous boring style.

rekcutnevets
07-17-2007, 06:32 PM
I'm watching. I think it has a chance to be very entertaining. Winky may feel that he has to pressure the old man to wear him down, and may feel that he has to win in an overly convincing manner to earn a decision. If this happens, Hopkins will have to punch if he wants to stay in the fight.

I'm leaning towards Hopkins by decision, but you never know when he is going to be too old to compete with an elite fighter.

I would have bought it if the price was more fair and there was a decent undercard. 60.00 is extremly unreasonable for

Bhop vs Winky
Katsidis vs TBA
Andrade vs TBA

I have a feeling that this card is going to tank
