I have Championship Fighting and Aggressive Defense by Jack Dempsey which is pretty good but the best way I found to learn is by sparring cause it really helps in pointing out your mistakes when you get hit

Thanks for the info. It is not for me though. I train and spar quite a bit. It is for my son. He is a black belt in TKD and a red belt in Tang Soo Do. He also has been promoted one belt in Gracie style BJJ by Royce himself after a seminar. he is pretty well rounded. He would just like to get some info on boxing also.

This is another one that I own that covers a lot of the basics really well

Has anyone read this book? Recommendations? What it writes seems good. I've heard enough times about getting in there to learn, obviously true, but I've improved a lot by reading the stuff in this site and thinking about techniques while I'm not in the gym: [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Sparring is the only way to learn how to fight.

I own it but it seems like the guys don't know what thier talking about. I don't really see anything in it to say "Mastery" to me its just another beginer training manual. Also for some reason both the guys demonstrating techniques are in the southpaw stance. I don't get that, for me it just confuses things.
