Calzaghe all the way

Calzaghe is going to win a decisive UD and bust Kessler up. It won't be a whitewash like the Lacy fight, but it'll be clear. Kessler has never been in there with anyone close to Calzaghe's level, he is good with a great one-two but he's not on JC's level, and his conventional style isn't going to throw anything at Joe that Joe hasn't already seen before. Calzaghe always elevates for big fights. Joe's speed, workrate and his impossible to replicate in training style will be too much for Kessler :good

Since when does having a conventional style preclude talent as a basis for prediction? What, Calzaghe can only lose to Toney or Darchinyan?

It doesn't. But Kessler's style is fairly one dimensional and it's a very conventional style. Meaning it'll be much easier for Calzaghe to formulate a gameplan based on past experience. Kessler's stepping into the ring with someone totally unlike anything he's ever seen, who you can't even get sparring partners to accurately replicate. That is an advantage to Calzaghe, and I didn't say that Calzaghe's just going to win because Kessler has a conventional style. It's not the "basis for a prediction", it's one of multiple factors that I'm taking into account

And if we're talking talent level Calzaghe is more talented and also more tested

yup i see that as well

Calzaghe losing wouldn't really be a massive upset. Kessler is a very good boxer who combines good fundamental skills with well above average athleticism. I just don't think he's good enough to beat Calzaghe unless Calzaghe has lost a step or two which I don't think he has

Probably Calzaghe. Once again he's fighting at home in front of his rabid fans. And with the right ref this thing could be over quickly if Kessler comes out slow.

Is it fair to say that Kessler is the best fighter that Calzaghe has faced?

China hand Joe predicting full stop for Kessler? What is th world coming to? What if your wrong? If Calazaghe wins will it break your heart that you picked against him?

If JC wins, China Joe will probably say: even though he was past his second prime, Joe outdid himself to beat a top P4P fighter.

past prime?? name a time he fought as good he did against Lacy only 3 fights ago, dunno if your getting excuses ready for a possible kessler win but calzaghe has shown no sign of fading.

calzaghe to win UD

calzaghe to win UDThat was his peak performance past his physical prime, I fear he won't be able to reach that level of performance again, his reflexes have looked slightly faded in his two fights since (Bika landed plenty of rights, against Manfredo he wasn't quick enough to just leap in throwing hooks like he used to be capable of - I reckon his elusiveness has just faded that little bit)

We all remember how quickly Roy Jones declined

Calzaghe's going to butcher Kessler, it won't be pretty for Kessler and Denmark but it's sure gonna be pretty for everyone else.

The Block has it pinned. Calzaghe by wipe out, late tko.

Watch and learn, especially around 4:00 to 4:10. I think that even Blocky will agree on that statement - when thinking about it twice. :hey

Kessler is so hyped by the fanboys that people have convinced themselves that he belongs with the elite. This guy is going to get exposed.

Exactly what people were saying about Kostya when he was supposedly in career best form after beating Mitchell the 2nd time. then 6 months later after he lost to hatton everyone was calling him shot.

I think Kessler will take this one on points.

(117-113) x 3 Kessler UD.

JC’s work rate, unorthodox stance and fast combos will not do it for him this time. And people might ask, why not, it has worked the last 20 times?

Yes, but Kessler simply will outbox Joe to the punch. Kessler is not a single punch KO man – but he can deliver strong pin point punches for full 12 rounds, and at the same time remain in perfect balance with a great defence in doing that. Just wait and see, JC is in for a surprice. Don’t go with the 35-year old. Remember what happened this very Weekend when doing so.:good :hey

Still can't belive how Andrade "Homer Simpsoned" that fight. If Calzaghe had fought Andrade, his hands would have to be amputated shortly after.

I hate to say it but ive been watching more and more of Kessler and JCs last two bouts....and i think Calzaghe is only going to beat him by 2 or 3 rounds instead of the whitewash it would be in his prime...he has a lost a step or two imo

He looked awful in several fights prior to Lacy also. He'll be fully prepared to max abilities for this one, we know that.

I stick with the Blocky prediction, Calzaghe wipe out.

yeah i know that i was kinda kidding around but i do believe JC has lost a little physically...nonetheless its true he looked like shit in the Saleem fight and not great in the Evans Ashira bout either but then again he did break his hand in that one...JC victory i say though i will be very nervous on the night of that one

over here in the UK JC is a 1/2 favourite which surprised me a bit

I won't be worried, and Calzaghe is my favourite fighter in all of boxing. This is because I know that Calzaghe thrashes Kessler into oblivion, securing his legacy once and for all.

Blocko and I will be laughing all the way after the fight as well.

Yes, we needed another thread on this topic. Absolutely. I'm looking forward to it, but I am fucking sick of the same argument being played out.

Yeah right . . . this could be the 1001 thread about the same bullcraps. :yep

17,000 tickets sold already, they are expecting to break the record of 63,500 for an indoor boxing show.If those figures are right, then that is impressive

Im always worried even if im completly confident as i was for the Jeff Lacy fight...though the most concerned i was in that one was when Joe appeared close to stopping him in the final round and i had 20 quid on him to win on points...
