I think Pavlik dominates AA, but not by stoppage.
Abraham has an amazing heart, but Kelly's workrate will eat him up.

AA has a puncher's chance, in my opinion.
Without multiple knockdowns, or a KO I don't see Arthur winning.
Kelly is just too busy. (similar to how I felt Calzaghe/Hopkins would pan out)

Abraham doesn't like overly aggressive guys, Pavlik doesn't like great counter-punchers with a tight defense.
Absolutely a classical matchup. This should happen... depeding on both guys next fight, I'll make a prediction a few months from now. I like both and pure instinct would say Abraham outboxes him with beautiful counter-punches, but the same fight I see could turn out in favor of Pavlik due to his aggression...
This is the ONLY meaningful fight at 160 and it's a monsterous fight.

I'd say he prefers them to defensive/slick runner types, he looks woeful against them
Pavlik as a fighter plays right into his hands
I'm kinda torn on this, I can see Abraham laying him out with one of those uppercuts, but also Pavlik outworking him for a decision.

It'll be a good fight, I'll be staring at my watch till they make this one happen. I can't see Abraham landing one of those uppercuts to Kelly's head though, he's too tall.

No middleweight in boxing history could beat Pavlik, he is just too strong. 88% KO average, no one ever came close to that.

Anyways, I'd take Pavlik over Abraham.
Pavlik probably outworks him to a decision, he just has to be wary of Abraham's explosive combos.

It will be a good fight but I think Pavlik wins in the end. Is Miranda their only common opponent? Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things just wondering?

I for one would think that this would be one hell of a damn awesome fight and a close one at that.. This fight does need to happen and it should happen after in '09.. Couldn't tell who would win right now.. Gotta' see how Abraham does vs Miranda this time 'round..

Of course Abraham would be able to knock out Pavlik. Abraham's one punch power is pretty huge, Pavlik's chin is shaky, and he's very hittable. The only result that would surprise me in this fight is an Abraham UD win. There's very little doubt that Abraham would connect with something big at some point, but I'm not sure how confident I am in Abraham finishing Pavlik off after hurting him. I think this would be a great fight where Pavlik gets off the canvas to win by decision or late stoppage. His workrate would constantly trouble Abraham and he's much bigger than him physically. Pavlik would also beat him from the outside. He would need to fight a lot more safely than he did against Taylor to minimize the risk of getting caught on the inside.

I have it 50-50.
High workrate with power but an open defence und a questionable chin against one punch KO power, a good defence, good counter-boxing but a low workrate.

lets see how he does against Miranda first. I dont know, but I enjoy watching Miranda he is exciting and comes to clean out youre clock! very basic and warrior like, no frills or bull. Lets see what happens there, I bet Abe will be jabbing and running for dear life in this one trying to steal another decision.

Abraham has the wrong style to beat Pavlik and also gives up size. Abraham keeps his hands high to block shots but allows fighters to back him up and punches in spurts. Abraham is easy to get into the ropes and then he puts his hands high infront of his face and waits for the other fighter to finish his flurry. Abraham can get away with this against lesser fighters but against Pavlik thats a recipe for disaster. Pavlik will punish Abraham and stop him.

Abraham couldn't do it the first time and wont do it now because he can't consistently back Miranda up. Miranda has a bigger chance to stop Abraham at 168lbs than the other way around. Abraham is gonna move a lot around the ring though and I see a decision win for Miranda.

166lbs btw., ist at catchweight
Abraham couldn´t stop Miranda the first time because of x litres of blood pouring out of his mouth and a two times broken jaw. Still in the nineth round he nearly had him down. I am 100% confident that without the injury he had beaten the shit out of Miranda.
But I guess we´ll have to wait until fight night to be sure who ist right and who is wrong ;)

i just read that post:

And I don't think any less of Kelly. ( Just some troll or complete fuckwit, or maybe someone playing a prank ). Not Kelly's fault.
So I just don't get it when some (otherwise good and knowledgeable) posters write:
I didn't mind Pac/Oscar/Calzaghe/the Klits/Floyd/ whoever, but after a while, I couldn't stand the nuthuggers and the fanboys, so now I hate Pac/Oscar/Calzaghe/the Klits/Floyd/ whoever.

You are right,tffp!
Abraham doesnt look that convicing against mobile and speedy runners a la Ian Gardner or Ayala.

:DLogic seems to be your weak spot, mate!
Miranda has a bigger chance to stop Abraham,eh!
Miranda wasnt able to stop a severely injured Abraham who was losing tons of blood bleeding like a shot pig.
Besides Abraham almost took Miranda out in round 9 of their encounter, and he hurt him quite badly in round 4.
Miranda has a bigger chance to stop Abraham,eh?

I personally think this would be the most exiting middleweight bout for years, id expect it to be all action, do not rule out abraham for a stoppage, likewise for pavlik, absolute diamond match up and hope it happens!!!! Oh and miranda cant beat abraham as we will see soon, abraham will counter his head clean off as he nearly did last time with zero energy through breathing probs, ill have a wad of cash on it no danger.

Stop the bullshit hype . . . anything can happen inside the ring.
I do see Pavlik having the advantage and I'll be picking him to win . . . but if he'll lose it's not fairy tale . . . it's for real. :yep

A lot depends on whether Abraham sticks with his current "take the first five rounds off, try to KO the guy in the next seven" plan.
If he does that and drops rounds against an aggressive as hell work rate machine like Pavlik, it won't be pretty. If he chooses to deviate from that plan, he'll have a good chance of catching Pavlik slow out the gate and stopping him early.

Pavlik for me. Abraham has a fair KO chance but I see Pavliks pressure game wearing Abe down. Abraham need his 2 min break every round. Pavlik wont let him!

This is all a moot point if Abraham doesn't get past Miranda. If Abraham loses, then we'll probably see Pavlik move to 168.

I just dont think so. Things in 168 division is just to muddy right now. Pavlik will not move until somebody unifies at 168. He will need a high profiled money fight to do so.
Kessler - Pavlik is a drooler for fans but Kessler has to make himself a common name in US at first.

Abe wont lose to Miranda. He will probably stop him this time.
The more I think about it the more I think Abe can upset Pav. This is going to be a seriously great fight if it comes off.
I still favour Kelly but it could end in tears for him.

I agree with you all the way. Abraham was handling Miranda easily until he got cocky in the first fight, he won't make that mistake again. Pavlik has to be a favorite against Abraham, but it wouldn't be a shock to see an upset. Abraham' tight guard is very difficult to penetrate, I don't think Pavlik's volume punching will help him there. Both fighters are very tough physical specimen, it should be an awesome fight.
