Williams is a durable journeyman, probably better than any of the stiffs Mesi' fought so far. Most likely Mesi beats him, but not by KO. Other than that china-chinned tomato can he faced last time, who has Mesi knocked out since he's been back??

Kudo's for posting this thread, not only do we not care, but both fighters are simply garbage.

I think this is a good step-up match for Mesi. Williams has been on a solid winning streak lately and would lend some credibility to Mesi's claim at being a contender again should Mesi win. If he wins on the 27th and then against Williams next month, that'll make eight in a row in less than a year-and-a-half and would have him up to 37-0. Good move by Mesi's management.

Mesi looked good against Linberger and bombed out the no-name he faced next in one round, too, so he may be coming back towards his old knockout form. His fight on the 27th should be instructive. Right now, I'm thinking a Mesi UD, although a stoppage isn't out of the question.

Mesi may be rusty but i think he still is a smart enough fighter from his former self to take out a B class fighter like Williams inside 7 rounds.

Mesi TKO/KO 7

If Baby Joe can take out The Tank it prove that he is a harder puncher both Ruslan Chagaev and Big Tye Fields both who only could win on points vs The Tank proving Mesi is back and better then ever! look out Russians the USA is going to be number one again in the heavyweights:happy Baby Joe:happy Baby Joe:happy Baby Joe:happy

Williams is a punching bag. Mesi should have no trouble taking him out by the middle rounds if he's in good shape.

Mesi is a bigger puncher than Chagaev and Fields. Fields is a volume/arm puncher.

Anyone who thinks Mesi will KO Tank is just plain foolish. Williams is very limited, but he'll get a guy a lot of rounds, because you know he won't get KOed. Mesi should roll to a relatively easy UD.

This fight will at the very least be entertaining. Two big guys in the center of the ring throwing punches. Thats what its about anyway....giving the fans their money's worth.

Vince is ESB's KING of matches between mediocre HWs that no one cares about. Usually it's hypothetical fights - since this one's actually made, he must be PUMPED.

Joe Mesi is his own worst enemy. If I heard the words "brain" and "bleeding" in the same sentence I'd be petrified. He might as well keep digging up heavyweight bodies to beat cuz the moment he fights anyone with a pulse that can land a punch he's in big trouble. Teddy Atlas, for all his faults, did Mesi a favor a few years ago.

Mesi "backs" out. The second time this summer. Is it his back or is it his heart?

Isn't this fight cancled due to a back injury for Mesi?

Isn't Sherman Williams the paint guy?
"Ask how, ask now...ask Sherman Williams"

I didn't know he was boxing now.

There will be NO *Bout between Mesi/ Williams! :(

So neither, I'm afraid!

I think Williams should still fight( since He is on the *Card ), ...against a Guy like Kali Meehan( Australia )/ 32-3-0-26KO, perhaps!? :think

Depends upon how far "The Tank" has slipped. Sherman looks like Tyson and punches like Byrd.
