:good Good news! Sprott is a good opponent for Bidenko at this point.
Taras should win a decision, as long as he's focused and cautious.

When Sprott can be bothered to fight and try and win he can still be a dangerous opponent but he knows his job in this one will be to lose, much like the Cisse fight I can see vthis going the full distance in a real borefest. Taras by clear UD but still no improvement in his title credentials, he will get KO the first time he faces a good opponent, he is too feather fisted for the heavy weight division.

Sprott have already announced his retirement. I wonder why Universum is now intersted of getting him against their up and coming fighters. Well.. For Sprott it is time to make easy money. Bidenko wins by a stoppage, althought he would never ever stop prime-Sprott.

This fight has been added to the same card as Sidorenko's title defense. It's now on the BoxRec schedule.

Bidenko by stoppage victory? Nah! Sprott may approach the end of his long pro career, but he isnt that much shot and over the hill to lose by ko or tko to a fighter who isnt really known for his firepower.
Besides Sprott very often puts up a very courageous show of boxing giving hell to whoever underestimates him inside a ring.
All in all, Sprott vs Bidenko is a very good match and a very good test for Bidenko.I for my part expect a close fight.

Yep. Bidenko could not even KO Jim Evans.

Sprott's been in there with a who's who of top European fighters. He'll give Bidenko a fight. That's for sure.

Taras Bidenko was easily beating Virchis before he got KO'd in the last round. His only other loss was to Valuev in his 4th fight and Valuev was already 28-0 he is not exciting but has good boxing skills and should beat Sprott comfortably on points. I do not understand Sprott he had an awesome KO win over Fraudley and then performed very poorly against Skelton. He has not fought in 10 months and does not seem to have any desire to move forward. Bidenko should take this and hopefully start fighting better opponents.

Right move by Bidenko, he should win this by UD in a competitive fight.

I guess that Bidenko will soon get his shot at a world title(assuming that he beats Sprott of course).
Well,Sprott is a dangerous opponent and that fight has not been won yet.It will probably be one of Bidenko's most important fights in his entire pro career. He had better keep his nose to the grindstone and sweat inside Kohl's gym or he will get the short end of the stick against Sprott.
Sprott has already spoilt Audley's party as well as some other decent fighters' ones.

It just seems to me that Bidenko will be one of those unfortunate fighters that never get their title shot no matter what they do or who they beat. He'll be a perennial top-10 fighter for the WBA but politics and more marketable fighters will keep him treading water just outside the #1 spot. If he's lucky he'll get an eliminator fight and even then I can see him being passed up again.

I also predict a close fight between the two.
I like Bidenko! He's actually one of my favorite heavies, but Im afraid that he became a little gunshy after his rather brutal KO-loss to Virchis in 2005. Before that he was a pure joy to watch, quickhanded and very hard to hit. But even if he's undefeated since the loss, he doesn't fight with the same kind of selfconfidence anymore.

Yep! Since Virchis brutally knocked him out he hasnt been the same fighter he had been before his encounter with Virchis.
Gunshy is the correct word,karlo!

I was an early Bedenko fan, but the word in the boxing community in Germany is he sometimes trains wtih too much vodka. Lately he's looked a bit better.
The last fight I saw with him, he had the 6 packs first in a very long time, but still looked a bit soft on the condition.

Well spoken, cruiser! Truth can be found in your post!!
There was rumour that Bidenko would face Chagaev in his voluntary title defence, but his management opted for Matt Skelton instead of Chagaev's stablemate Bidenko.
I for my part would love to watch a rematch between Virchis and Bidenko, but it doesnt really seem to be their fate to meet each other once again in a pro fight. Virchis will soon fight Gomez. Bidenko walks on a different path.
Anyway! His upcomming fight with Sprott hasnt been won yet. Therefore we should stay calm and not count our chickens before they are hatched.
A victory over Sprott is no sure bet at all.

I'm glad that you acknowledge this. I've been saying all along that Sprott's not gonna roll over for Bidenko. He's coming to fight. Sprott's done a European apprenticeship that has garnered him invaluable experience and has made him a seasoned veteran. This is like his 7th time fighting in Germany by the way. Granted, he hasn't been in there with a seasoned Eastern European fighter like Bidenko but he'll adapt and make it a competitive fight.

Sprott has shown some very decent fights in Germany. He beat Dettweiler in a very entertaining fight, had a bloody close fight with Virchis, beat Timo Hoffman, lost a close fight to Vidoz, and defeated the undeated hype job Cengic Coc. Once agains he will fight on German soil. I am quite sure that once again he will put up a courageous show of boxing.
By the way didnt Paolo Vidoz win a fight against another Brit a few days ago???? I am not sure anymore but I think that I somewhere read that he has returned from early retirement and beat a British opponent on his home turf in Italy.

If Bidenko wins this fight, and he should, he could start to push for a fight with Ruiz for the rights to be Chagaev's mandatory.
That would be great, have Chagaev fight a good oponent while ridding us of the presence of Ruiz.

A win over Sprott is just what Bidenko needs at this stage in his career.
Sprott is the ideal opponent for Taras: dangerous yet beatable.

You are probably ring in saying that at this stage of his career Bidenko needs a good name with a good reputation in front of his fists. Doesnt make much sense to face another decent journeyman like Feliz or Arias!!!
Sprott is a good fighter with a good reputation and with a recognisable name-especially in Germany where he has fought quite a few times over the last few years.
