Very convincing performance by Green. Griffin looked a bit bigger than I imagined him to be.
Griffin claimed the first KD was a slip, but as soon as Danny came at him after he beat the count, he was looking for cover, and got decked again.
Good win, in great fashion. Looking forward to see who his next fight will be against.

No worries mate, it wasn't much trouble. Griffin was just a strange sort of fighter that would give less physical guys problems but Danny just mauled him. It was a left hook that hurt him initially then Green just teed off on him.

Mundine by KO this time.:patsch:lol:No Way. He would never KO Green at 175.
Green looks devastating at 175. or is that just me. since being at 175 his opponents havnt been to bad.
well better than Mundine vs Nievas.
anyway Green has KO'd DeLisle, TKO'd Murdoch and now TKO'd a good fighter in Griffin in 3 rounds.

Green would definitely put on a better show but I don't think it would be fair on Mundine who makes 168 easily. I think Danny should move on and make his own name at 175.

Though a few more impressive wins like this will probably drum up some noise for a rematch from the general public. I overheard a guy at the pub saying how Mundine wouldn't last 10 minutes with Green at light heavyweight.

Very good comment. ( bye the way scheinehund mean pigdog) Yeah mate, i was there last night & i cannot see a reason why a champion would wanna take on Danny unless he was getting large amounts of money, or Green forces a title shot by being the number 1 contender.
Green is far too big a risk for guys like Drews & Erdei.
Green vs Woods could happen i guess.
Danny has no pull in USA, so a match with Dawson wont create massive cash.

I thought it was good display from green, he didn't carry on, just got straight down to business and did the job.
I think it's worth giving some cred to griffin, although he got dominated he was a real gentleman and showed alot of class both before and after the fight in the way he handled himself as a sportsman.
However, I was fucking appauled at the trash yelling out during the american anthem and during the 10 rings of the bell for damo scott, you could see it bothered green and it sure as fuck bothered me. That type of shit should not be tolerated.

I completely agree. Green should just do his own thing, he has a decent following and can finish his career successfully without mundine. This applies equally if not more to mundine who everyone knows has the potential if he wishes to use it.
Hope everyone enjoyed the night! :good

I was singing the US national anthem, but people behind me are saying crap like "F*** america" & "Why is this crap being played". Sad stuff.
Crowd came pretty late too, i was there from the start, obviously most are Green fans & not boxing fans.:deal

Griffin was garbage I expected more but sometimes when guys step up they just crumble.
That being said the stoppage was a tad early. The KD's seem more from Green just bludgening Griffin and wrestling him down.
In fights like this the 3 KD rule isnt always appropriate, Griffin looked like he could continue and at least one of the KD's was borderline.
Green looked quick and focused but still uninventive and robotic even.
At this stage Tarver could still probably outbox him and stop him late.
I say Danny has a bigger chance against Woods but even thats a 50-50 fight for him.

Even though he pretty much got up as soon as the ref called it off, I think it was still the right call. Being knocked down 3 times in the space of say 45 seconds isn't good, and it's deserving of a stoppage imo.

I just feel it showed Griffin's lack of balance and mongrel more than his lack of chin.
Because he really didnt get tagged with a lot of clean hits going down.
Almost like he was bullied to the stoppage, which happens but I would have like to seen more.
I never used the word premature for a reason, Ive seen guys come back from more and even though it is the ref's job to protect the fighter he wasnt getting hurt all that much. Nothing controversial, wrong or harsh about it, just in my opinion It could have gone on.

Very rarely have I seen a guy been allowed to fight on after going down 3 times in the one round. Echols/Brewer comes to mind, but that should have been stopped regardless of what happened in the next round.
this was different to that though, as Griffin appeared to still be ok.
He did have shit balance too. I noticed that when he threw some combo's in round 1.

Ive seen some Asian fight a few years back where one guy gets dropped 4 times in a round but comes back to win either the next round or the round after.
The ref used his discretion because all but one of the KD were soft and when he was off balance and at least one was dubious.
Griffin wouldnt have come back to win however, He looked to slow for Green from the opening bell but he was frustrating Green enough to make his miss most of his power shots.
So I could have seen it lasting a few more rounds possibly.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from, but imo I think it was pretty black and white. He must have got hit with something because that second KD (I think?) seemed to take its toll, he wasn't exactly getting up in a hurry. But like you said, ref's call, I would have liked to see it go a bit longer perhaps as well :thumbsup

Under WA rules (and in fact I think most Oz states) there is no 3 knock down rule. Totally at refs discretion. It is only if the local commissions accept sanction body rules (eg title fights) that that rule may then come into effect.
All said and done- Griffin was going no where and hated that jab in his face!

Disciplined performance by Green, looked very focused and got the job done quickly and smoothly. 3 knockdowns in the 3rd, I thought Griffin was the best fighter in North America.:rofl The guy's useless in general, got no speed, has no power with only 8 ko's, Green couldn't have expected much from him. I hope Green fights Briggs next, it would be great for the sport in Australia. If he can't get Briggsy he should look to someone like Julio Gonzales - then he can say he deserves a title shot ... or even Oganov - won't happen.

that crowd was disgusting and actually I would say has been every time I have seen them. Green should talk to his fans and say "rednecks your not welcome". Good greif, the Aussie Aussie chant (which is embaressing at the best of times) during the moment silence was the worst display by a crowd in Australia (minus some NSL matches) ever.
The card sucked arse, Green showed nothing new, though looks cut at this division. The only thing worth watching was Kickett, who should definately hang with the man. He is awesome potential.

especialy since kickett gets paid for fighting on greenys undercards so i'd hardly think he would start hanging out with choc so he could be exploited and get payed in tickets:deal

I did not get the opportunity to buy the PPV but I watched the fight replay and I thought Green was quite impressive. Read some people on forums suggest that Griffin was hopeless, but realistically this guy was a genuine top 30 light heavy (as on boxrec) and of course people forget that he would kick their ass.
Green looks very powerful at 175 with very good handspeed.
I think given that Green is more comfortable at 175, and has had another very solid win a rematch with Mundine is very valid, especially if Green were to pick up a 175 world title (even if it’s the lighter regarded IBO).

Kickett should hang with the man to learn about professionalism, marketing and how to hown his obvious skills. It couldnt hurt him. And the exposure he would get on Mundines card would far outway anything he gets on Greens cards. People also earn a lot more on Mundines undercards is the truth. Another reason to fight on a Mundine card is that Mundine fights in Sydney not wopwop. He's gonna want to come over here. Its bound to happen and I'd be utterly surprised if it isnt already on the cards.

I disagree that Green looked good (except to say he looked cut). But I realise that people see what they want to see in boxing. They are pretty honest over at ABF and they are all saying Green should pretty much hang it up. I saw a robot with little output land a shot on a guy with no legs and slow/no evasion skills. I guess you saw a guy demonstrating patience and pressure land a devistating blow on a top 15 contender.

The only thing you ever see is your imagination of Mundines balls slapping on your chin, the fighters on Mundines undercard don't even get paid, they are given tickets to sell and they keep what they sell, which in the case of his last shit fest wouldn't be much since loads of the tickets get given away to get people in there, Katsidis even said it on camera when he was on one, that he even had to pay to get on Mundines undercard, if that doesn't tell you that Mundine is after nothing in the sport but to line his pockets, he has millions yet instead of helping a guy like Katsidis get exposure the selfish sack of shit actually makes the bloke pay to go on the show.
Yet dickheads like yourself still cant comprehend why the bloke gets no respect from anyone with any form of a brain in their head.

Muttley why arent I still on you "conceded defeat" list, have you got your second wind??...And, damn it, its Vasman...
you dont need a boxing degree to see that Green is robotic and getting more so. In fact you dont have to have seen the fight. Go visit other forums where they are more matter of fact about this stuff. Green barely laid a punch on this fella till the punch he did land was too much. He followed him around without even throwing much. And this guy, as slow as he was, landed some leather on Green through the 2nd round. I saw the fight mate, I was impressed with Kickett, not so Green.

See what getting off your butt and going overseas can do Re Katsidis now has fans all over the world, maybe Mundine can now pay up and appear on one of Micks undercards overseas for some world exposure :hey
