Just watched Danny Green absouloutly slaughter Otis Griffin putting him down 3 times and finishing him in rd 3:deal
I would love to see him fight Tarver for the IBO belt he would punch holes in Tarver and now that Danny is ranked no1 it could possibly happen however Tarver will more likely look for the bigger name fights but if the fight ever comes off Tarver is in big trouble little china:good

how good does Green look since moving up in weight.

i would say he is now finally fighting at his natural weight. 3 rounds it took him to beat Otis Griffin.

Look out Tarver i say.

I'd like to see green fight Briggs, and the winner of that should fight a big gun.

I doubt Tarver would fight Green. Tarver probably has his sights set on other things at this stage in his career.

I'd rather see him try and get a shot at Woods, that would be a ripper fight.

I want to get a DVD of this fight, and I am willing to trade with anyone who has it...I never liked Griffin since he was handed that fake pretender championship...good win for Green, maybe he can cash in on a title shot now.

I'm really starting to respect Green. Here is a very skilled boxer who doesn't "play it safe" and goes out of his way to please the fans. That's my kind of fighter. :happy

Couple that with the fact that Green has done SOOOO well in his other step up fights going a wonderful 0-3, and being totally outclassed by Mundine I would say that Green is p4p.:nut

Noone said he was P4P. Give some props though, he just crushed Otis Griffin tonight which is a good win no? Tarver struggled in his last fight against what you would call a NOBODY.

He's definitely a contender at 175.

Don't stress, you are talking to one of the worst posters in the history of ESB.
Everything he knows about Danny Green came of boxrec. Matter of fact, everything he knows about boxing came off there too.

How many clubfighters are ranked top 15 by two organisations:good
iam not making him out to be some star but he's hardly a club fighter.
And if you haven't heard of a guy who's top 15 in the world, won de la hoya's reality show, and who's from your home state i'd hardly call yourself a die hard fan.

I don't normally do this, but this one time I'll have to agree with hudson..

Arrrgh, that feels bad!
:-)

Otis Grant?
or Griffith, was it?
Griffin, right, sorry.. my bad..

Who?

I looked at his stats and the only name I recall having seen before is Brook Stodden, but that was because Rudy Markussen demolished him on the undercard of Gatti vs. Damgaard.
And Rudy really isn't very good, is he?

So.. I gotta go with Hudson..
Maybe Green needs a little more than a tomato can before calling out Tarver and Woods.

Briggs would be interesting, surely.

I really like the Green Machine, and hoped he would batter the Man, but really, Mundine showcased Danny's obvious short comings - like beyer in the rematch, btw..

Funny that Kessler has dominated both Mundine and Beyer isn't it?
And that Rudy Markussen, a stable mate of Kessler has declined fighting the VW on several occations, haha.. no wonder..

Surprise surprise. New Wind finds another unrelated Kessler thread to somehow find a way to involve Kessler, and completely whore his name out to us. :D

We get it Wind, Kessler is a superior, and very sexy speciman. :patsch

i'm just messin with you NW. It's just been a while.

I think you've got a point there Windy. Green looked mega sharp last night, but TBH in the brief chance we got to see Griffen the American looked pretty limited. Apart from being fairly elusive he didn't seem to have too many options. He looked slow and his offensive arsenal lacked pop.

But Green looked devestating, as he has in his previous two fights since moving up so its hard not to get excited. He's gone back to utilizing his damaging jab and he picks his moments a lot more. His footwork and movement seemed vastly improved and reminded me a lot of your boyfriend Kessler. In in the last two fights the first instance in the fight where they've traded the other guy has been knocked off his feet.

Greeny is obviously going to struggle against guys with silky smooth skills and good counter punchers ala your Mundines etc but with his new found health and his power and jab he's going to impose his will on anyone but the slickest of the slick. But then it's a little hard to tell until he's matched with a LHW from the upper echelon. Bring on Tarver. Green KO 7.

Green aint no world beater but he showing that anyone he fights in 175 won't be an easy fight.
The only problem i see for Danny is is new found infautation for only fighting in Perth , if hes to get this world title shot hes going to have to maybe be the traveller again , then if he beats a woods etc , he can defend the title 100 times against mediocre opposition and make a motzer in perth , they absoloutly love him over in the west!

No idea how Hudson hasn't heard of Otis Griffin, considering he's from Cali and has gotten quite a bit of TV exposure.

Otis wasn't world class, and he had terrible stamina (was always totally out of it after about 6 rounds), so I was expecting Green to stop him late.

I did expect Otis to win some rounds early, as he does have some skill...so I say very well done to Danny for absolutely dominating the fight early on, where I was expecting Griffin to be building up the points.

Otis looked a level below he's top 14 rating.

Good win for Green but a fight v Tarver/Woods etc would be a serious test.

I met Griffin a few months back, and he seemed a little over his head. He was calling out Erdei and felt he was the next champ. I was thinking to myself, "This guy is screwed if he fights Zsolt, I almost feel bad for him." Thanks for getting him out of the picture Mr. Green.

The best part of your post, is that the idiot it is referring to posted again before reading this, and proved that he is a true boxrec warrior. "I never heard of him until i looked him up".... hahaha. What a clown. If your going to be a total newbie at least keep it to yourself in future, it might save some embarrassment.

Good post. Green would do quite well IMO against Woods. Tarver unless age is starting to get to him would be too much for Green. Erdei is a bit untested and to be honest from the small bits I have seen doesn't look like the future of the division by any stretch. I would rate Green as a live under dog against him.

Danny would have a good chance against Woods although I think Tarver would be to much for Green . Danny needs to sharpen up his defence against the top line fighters . Beyer's body punches slowed Green down alot in there second fight and he just didn't seem to have an answer for it
