Casamayor vs. Marquez / J.Diaz vs. Katsidis?

Boxing Confidential is reporting that the Diaz vs. Casamayor fight will not take place, and instead Casamayor will fight Marquez in October, and Diaz will fight Katsidis in September. Thoughts and predictions if this happens?

I feel the same way... but I can also look at it this way... If Casa and Marquez do fight, I believe Marquez will beat him. That would give Marquez the Ring belt and Casa is out of the picture. That can set up Marquez vs. Campbell, or Pacquiao vs. Campbell to unify belts.

I don't understand the logic of those who say JMM will beat Casa. Casa is naturally bigger, has decent power and skills, better chin. I see Casa roughing up JMM so bad and frustrate his rhythm for a KO/TKO on the 10h or 11th, should this fight happen...

Marquez by a very close but well deserved decision. Diaz by clear decision, possible TKO due to accumulation of punches.

I have a feeling that whoever he fights, Diaz' bounce back from his first loss will be huge!

hmm... i notice that marquez is taking long breaks in between fights now. fighting casa in oct. means that this will be 7 months since his fight w/ pac.

he seems to be content in fighting only twice a year now probably due to advancing age. but should he be taking more fights now due to this rather than lessening them. :huh

i beg to differ. margo-cotto is fight of the year. diaz and katsidis have both shown they dont have much in the way of power. they will both probably exert extreme amount of pressure on each other by taking turns slapping each other in the face

Anyway im gonna pick Juan Manuel Marquez by UD, Casa will take the early rounds but fade in later where Marquez is at his best. Also, Diaz is just a level above Kat so he'll win probably by stoppage in a war

Should be a goood card and im glad Kat isn't fighting Chavez, i don't want to see Chavez get hurt since he is shot.

It's two different dates, so it won't be on the same card. I think Marquez vs. Casamayor might land on HBO PPV because of JMM's new popularity. Diaz vs. Katsidis is a nice HBO BAD headliner.

Hell yeah.. I would love to see Casamayor vs Marquez.. Should be an interesting fight for sure if it get's signed.. Diaz vs Katsidis should be good as well..
