wtf is the big deal. anyone here actually have a brother?! i keep seeing people say "itd be so wrong" or "they are family thatd be terrible" bla bla...ARE YALL KIDDING? i got in fights with my brothers up until the day we all moved out...often pretty bloody. now i love my brothers, but that doesnt mean they dont deserve a beating now and again...(im sure me as well). its part of growing up with brothers ur own age.

and assuming vitali makes it past mccline and eventually gets another belt...to my mind thatd make them the top two fighters at hw. to not fight each other is at the core of the problem with boxing (top fights not being made!). im a big klitschko fan ( of both really), but BOTH OF THEM CANT BE CHAMP!!! thats a contradiction. there is one heavyweight champion. or none at all.

...and again, if one of my bro's was standing in my way of being champ...or me them...id expect nothing less than the fight of my life. and id bring it to them.

That would be ridiculous for them to fight each other because after boxing is done family is all thats left and why hang a cloud of you and your family

well it boils down to how close your family is or are you willing to have that permanent image of you beating up your brother or vice versa... its good to have a goal, often you'd do almost anything to get it..but beating up family especially ones own brother to be a champ is too much for me..

i just dont see how they dont have SOME rivalry. like said, my two biggest rivals in the world are my brothers, but we are a team too. it just wouldnt be that big a deal. i certainly dont think itd 'hang a cloud' over anything. the loser should be proud of the winner.

They seem pretty close so i think its a matter of not wanting to go all out and take the chance of hurting someone you care for......P.S. i think Vitali wins( more heart)

yeah i can see not wanting to permanately hurt the other. but they are boxers...part of the game is the occasional minor injury. yeah id have to give the edge to big brova. lil bit of a mental thing.

Yes, I have a younger brother who boxes, and is in the same weight class as me, and is about to enter the seniors. And no, I wouldn't fight him. If we did get matched it would be a joke, neither of us would go full out.

Yeah but if you saw your brother helpless could you honestly go in for the kill or would you stop and cradle him ,that the real question....

Maybe in your dysfunctional ass family, but where I come from (a former Soviet republic, same as the Klitschkos) blood is thicker than water.

good call. im pretty sure i could be a sportsman and be proffesional (finish one of them off), as id expect them me. id never want to hurt them. but again, of course...we've been in some pretty viscious fights b4. i wouldnt consider a cut eye or dazing them a lil anything serious.

Are you the oldest brother? As teenagers my little brother always wanted to fight me, but I always held back. If as an adult you would freely fight your brother then you have problems

I've sparred with my brother, but again, that's training, not actually pounding him. I felt bad when I cracked him with a jab and his nose started bleeding, he's a bleeder (or was then) so I don't think in a professional match I could do it. Not even now as an amateur could I, I think if we ended up in a bracket against each other, as in actually matched to fight, one of us would probably step aside.

see, id consider that disrespect (if one of them ducked me coz we were brothers).

Why? I'm not going to fight my blood, the person I'm most closely related to, and probably the person who knows how to fight me the best anyway. It would be a blast bitch trying to fight my brother, so it's convenient we're too close to do it.

so what happens when you hit him hard that it causes permanent damage? you become champ right?...what i mean is, i'd have no problem if it wasnt my brother since i wont have to face my family all the time and we'd be looking at my beaten brother and there's something wrong with him.

thats part of the fun to me...take madden football for example. i HATE playing them, but they are my best challege, coz they know every play i pick, teams, etc. fighting (and boxing) is no different.

Except you're punching them in the face, trying to render them unconscious for at least 10 seconds, or at least too damaged to continue.

Same here, me and brother mess around, sparring etc (our mum got annoyed last week because we bruised each other), but I could never actually fight him, I'd rather let him knock me out while my hands where at my side than fight him.

We spar and we work each other and know what the other needs to work on; but that's with headgear and 18 oz gloves. It's completely different wearing 12 or 10oz gloves in a sanctioned (amateur) match, much less professionally.

im assuming most of the people here have boxed...we have most of our lives...ive never been that hurt. broken nose, teeth, etc. we dont have brain damage. being a lil dramatic arent u?

No, maybe because I've boxed since I was 6. And everytime I go into the ring, I go in thinking win, but if the opportunity were to present itself, I would go for a stoppage, or try to force it. I couldn't do that against my brother.

well i really wouldnt feel like a monster if i stopped one. (and yes we are close, roommates, and the one that doesnt live with us is there everyday). boxing isnt a fight to the death. now i know people will start in with "people die doing it bla bla"...people die doing a lot of things. the object of boxing isnt to hurt the other person. its to win. i think everyone saying "id never do that" nd to have a lil perspective. boxing is a sport. u would tackle ur brother? or block his jumpshot?

Yes, because I'm not trying to hurt him in football or basketball. I am trying to hurt my opponent in boxing. It's as simple as that, I'm not going in to play tag; I'm going in to beat someone up.

i dunno, ive been hurt a lot worse playing football than i ever have boxing. and ive never entered a boxing ring thinking "this guys not gonna be breathing when im done". im in it for the sport of it, not to hurt people. so who's violent here?

 Nice. I'm not a violent person, but I've boxed long enough and been around the sport long enough to know that whatever friendship or liking you may have for your opponent, you better turn that shit off. I don't go in the ring trying to kill, but I do go in the ring and I do visualize before hand myself stopping my opponent, almost without fail. I couldn't do that against my own blood.

nono i agree im not thinking "oh what a great guy" as i throw an uppercut, but thats what i meant as far as being professional and a sportsman outside AND inside the ring. im in it to win, against a-1. and my friendliest AND fiercest rivals are my brothers, and im not the only person who feels like that.

i've beaten the shit outa my brother before. he's whooped my ass well. hasn't had a "dark cloud" looming over the family tree or anything. nothing wrong with it really.
