I can't help but be disappointed on this sad news. The rumors are true after all.:patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch
My dad, who is a closefriend of eric pineda, pac's business manager, just confirmed it after meeting up with him just a couple of nights before.
Eric said that the team is interested in hatton after diaz, my dad was quick to reply that they should'nt be rushing on hatton immediately, reasoning that hatton is too big.
Eric said that "Don't panic, it ain't signed yet."
I texted mr.pineda that night and i insisted they instead pick katsidis first because kat reminds me of hatton in many ways, relentless in-your face brawling and inboxing.
Or the winner of nate and guz. So that pac can be the first filipino to unify world titles, One for the pinoy boxing books.(assuming he gets the title from david)
(All his predecessors did not achieved this, even flash elorde, dodie boy, luisito or gerry.) It's good for his legacy anyways, i added.
I hope you listen mr. pineda.(If you go to esb, then you already have a hint on who the author of this thread is) It's just a humble opinion. The team got to take it one step slowly ,sir. He's not even really tested at lw! Money is good but legacy is better you know what i mean? He won't lose options while his on top of the food chain and well assured that he can stay there! Well i guess that's just another thread. I shall prepare an open letter for the pac team and diractly to arum too. Mr.pineda is just too busy (i should know) i don't want to disturb the guy though.

Don't worry about me esb boxing fanatics. I can tell you that i am definitely a reliable source. Im the one who made the thread before that pac is taking jmm in the rematch before news of it scattered all over the net, remember? If you think i'm not, then you can curse divac's dick to shrink by 2 inches tonight! Yes. i'm not kidding, fellas!

Then Good!! Let's have the Fight in november. Win or lose to Hatton Pac still has that option to Unify 135. He's just moving up to 140 just to beat Hatton. Don't worry buddy Pac will beat Hatton easy.

Hatton looked like shit against slowmo Lazcano so Pac could beat him. Hatton's body is showing signs of age and his punch resistance is clearly decreasing. The Mayweather fight took a lot out of him a lot and if he fights Maligaggi, then Money May and gets hurt again, i think pac will stop him.

I believe pac can upset hatton but I believe the sentiments of the thread starter.
WHAT's THE RUSH?!
Pac should test the waters of 135lbs first. After his david diaz (assuming he wins! I assume he wins!) he should have a tune-up fight before moving up again to 140lbs...
But come to think of it moving up by 10lbs in two fights?
JMM at 130lbs
D. Diaz at 135lbs
Hatton at 140lbs
I believe that is some sort of a record? Moving UP 10lbs in just two fights?
Moving up too fast might be the culprit if he loses. I suggest he gets a tune up fight before fighting hatton immediately..
Just like what they say...slowly but surely...just like cooking. Slow cooking is still the best!
Just my two cents...

When mosley moved up, he skipped 140 alltogether. He went from 135 to 147. That's 12 lbs in 1 fight.

Yes and as you know in the olden days fighters moved up considerably in weight with fewer classes.

Lazcano is former sparring partner of Pacman. Lazcano is also former 135lber. Depending on how Pac deals with the LW (I think he demolishes all of them bar Guzman and Nate) then a fight with Hatton looks very winnable.

As I've said already, I think Pac should fight Casa, Campbell, and Katsidis first before moving up to 140 to fight Hatton..
Pac is not going to beat Hatton.
It will be intersting to come here after this match. I can guarantee Pac fans will be suprised about how Hatton moves Pac backward and I can also guarantee they will think he got wronged by Hatton's clinches and bullying of the smaller man. Its going to be a story of the larger man, with the larger frame, carrying the day in a weight class in which he is conditioned to go 12 rounds in. He will push Pac backwars all night and his body work will be effective against a fighter who stands in front of him and doesn't use lateral movement.
Typical overating of Pac going on here and lack of understanding of weight class.

If Pac will waste time with those 135 pounder, Hatton will gonna have another KO loss in his Resume. There will be no more luster for this fight.

It's a good move. Pac-Hatton is a superfight. Two big names, two P4P fighter, although Hatton will probably be criticized.
Makes remember, in some ways, Pryor-Arguello.

Ah, my first post...hello.
Pac vs Hatton would be an interesting fight, but do we know for definite that the punch will travel up in weight with him? He's one hell of a fighter but I get a feeling he won't be carrying 140 in weight as well as Ricky Hatton, and may find Hatton's pressure too much in his bloated condition.

We should wait to see how Pac looks against Diaz. We are imagining Pac fighting with the same speed and power as at 130 although we still have to see him at 135. Yes, I've heard he shows up at 145-47 for the fight, but that doesn't prove anything as his opponent is likely to be blowing up as well.

you used to underrate Pac. You used to say Morales was too Big for Pac. Look what Pac has done to the guy who's suppose to be a naturally bigger than Pac??? Don't underestimate the Power of the Pacman.

You are precisely correct in pointing out that just because a boxer can weigh 140lbs, it doesn't neccesarily translate into an effective 140lbs.
At a certain point Pac will not be effective, though his fans sometimes don't understand this.

While you are only interested to see a Hatton and DLH fight, I'm interested in other fights.. Whatever Pac does, he'll do.. If he wants to fight 135lbers, then he'll do it.. If he wants Hatton after Diaz, then so be it.. I don't see how you think a fight with Campbell or Casa wouldn't be interesting..

In Hatton Case, it's proven he's the arguello in his 1st jump in weight. Lazcano, a career Lightweight almost Koed Hatton. What more for a Proven Multi weight ATG like Pac???

Or perhaps typical case of overestimating weight class? If Hatton is forbidden to clinch like the PBF fight, id favour Pac. If he can clinch, Hatton all the way inside 7 rounds via a bodyshot.

One thing's for certain folks, it would be one HELL of a fight!
Or perhaps typical case of overestimating weight class?
Hmmm. Seems difficult given to argue given the following observations;
1. His power has visibly diminished since moving to 130lbs.
2. He hasn't yet even tried the waters at 135lbs.
3. We are talking about him going after the best fighter at 140lbs who has been knocked out only once, by the best fighter of 147lbs and the consensus p4p #1.

The only other person I see retiring Hatton is Mayweather, which is a rematch that shouldn't happen.. I can see you want Pac to retire Hatton, but I see Hatton fighting Mayweather and Malignaggi in his next fights and then possibly Pacquiao.. If he goes this route, then Pac can fight the 135lbers as I would like for him to do until a Hatton fight comes available, but like I said, if he fights Hatton after Diaz, I'm with him..

Ah, go for the big money/assured loss and avoid serious challenges in Campbell, Guzman, Diaz at Lightweight that are winnable and add legacy points if won.
Great idea.

Iv read that Pac is rumored to fight Casamayor, Campbell, Khan, J. Diaz, Valero, Marquez, Dela Hoya, and Hatton after he beats David Diaz. I would like to see a Pac vs Hatton super matchup at the end of this year, but realistically if the fight were to happen the earliest would be in 2009. While Hatton will be busy making "The Magic Man" disappear later this year, I personally think Pac should pursue at matchup with the Casamayor/Diaz winner and fight for The Ring belt.

Yeah, Pac has been rumored to fight everyone.. I too think he should pursue the winner of Casa/Diaz and then later Campbell.. I would love for him to unify in the lightweight division and win another linear title..

This shouldn't even be mentioned until they see how Pac does v. D. Diaz @ 135. Even Erik Morales, who's always been a hard hitter though out his career, looked the weaker of the two when he fought Diaz, and Diaz isn't even a big puncher for 135 (although it will seem more so when figjhting smaller guys). If Pac struggles or gets backed up by Diaz all night, fighting anyone over 135 should be out of the question for Pac.
