Should Bob 'The Colonel' Sheridan commentate for HBO??

Bob 'The Colonel' Sheridan is one of boxing's most entertaining, exciting and knowledgable commentator in the bizz. He really gets the fans going with his ability in punctuating the big punches. He's called literally thousands of fights as well as many title fights, and has been around the sweet science for quite a spill. I submit no other boxing commentator is as quite as exciting to watch a boxing match as The Colonel. Only the great Larry Merchant is challenged by his skill and ability. He also has a wonderful sense of humor and impecable timing.

HBO needs Bob The Colonel Sheridan.

The Colonel is the worst. He makes Jim Lampley seem impartial. He's nothing but a blow hard that sucks the home fighters ass.

Sheridan is openly biased and consantly gets his facts wrong.

He's pretty exciting to listen to and does a good job of hyping the fights, but he's getting a bit too senile in his old age for my liking (although he isn't as senile as Larry...yet)

He's actually decent when he sticks to commenting and when he has good people working with him, like Al Bernstein once.

However, besides his blatant promoting of the WBC and Don King he annoys the heck out of me when he starts explaining that he judged a round in favour of one guy but then starts explaining that judge might have have judged the other way around because of so and so .

Just shut up and describe what's happening on the ring ...

the worse is when he is all alone, then he becomes a motormouth never taking a break, forgetting that he's not on radio but that we can see the fight too.

Damn guys, doesn't anyone give The Colonel the respect he deserves? He is a veteran boxing analyst and he knows the fight game pretty well and he's exciting to listen to. Ok he may exaggerate a bit when it comes to hyping stuff up, but for the most part he brings entertainment to the fight and he's extremely witty and knowledgable.

Sheridan looked rediculous on the Golota card the other week. When the broadcast came on, he had on blue-blockers and had a blue tongue. I assumed he just fininished a blue slurpee.

Sorry, man, I gotta disagree. I thought he ruined the show from Poland. Just got too annoying after awhile. I don't care how witty someone is, if they're screaming in my ear, the volumne has to go down.
As far as hyping stuff, he made it seem like I was watching the WWF...which I don't!
