The Ukranian 81kg (light heavyweight) star Ismail Silakh has been disqualified for 2 years by AIBA. He has lost his personal olympic licence and Ukraine will only have 7 representatives at the games.
Doping sample B of one of the favourites for the Beijin olympics was positive for Carphedon, which is legal to use during trainings, but illegal for use during competition. This doping test was made during the Italian qualification tournament in March, where Silakh qualified for the olympics.

Maybe the governing body can fill his spot with an American. Assuming one has not already legitimately qualified. :patsch
Can Hunter cut some weight??? :D :D :D
Well, there isn't an 81kg American qualified so :yep
Nah, I think they should give a "friendship licence" to the light heavyweight champion of Micronesia, who has been working hard and punching coconuts under water for the last three months.
In fact, if Charlie Zelenoff hadn't fought pro, I think that he ought to have gotten a licence.

I guess this means Silakh will turn up in Germany fighting for Kohl or Sauerland now?

No idea. He's a talented fighter though, and it's pretty interesting to see a mixed race guy from Ukraine! On the other hand - two years is a long period. No sense to stick aroud as an amateur if you cant box!

This thread came back from the dead just like Lazarus(sp). Too bad the Violent Retard got the ban hammer, he was great...
I though I read somewhere that Silakh recently KO'd Daniel Judah in the pro ranks??? Where can take all the Carphedon he desires. As it shoud be.
