The Sun, not the most reliable source, but what can Frank say now to slag him off.

Rahman means nothing, he should be fighting the rising star of HW boxing - Roman Greenberg. :yep

Good news for Haye. He needed a good stateside promoter. Glad he has not gone with ******. I could not stand it if all the ****** haters suddenly turned against Haye, at least now he will keep his support.

I think ****** got the message when Haye basically said that he wouldn't fight Enzo unless the bout was no strings attached, and ****** reluctantly agreed, and as I understand, made Haye an offer after the fight anyway.

He needed to get a Stateside promoter, as ****** would just start the whole domestic merry go round again - and as the new 'face' of British boxing, Haye needs more than just being a cash cow.

Heavyweight wise, Haye's better fighting In Europe than America unless It's Peter who holds a belt or something so not sure If Golden boy would be a good Idea.

Ridiclious comment, Haye needs stateside exposure and Goldenboy will get him that. Guarentee his enxt fight will be on HBO.

Stateside when America's Heavyweight division Is weak? Europes Heavyweight division Is stronger at the moment and he might have to fight In europe alot more. Not everyone needs Golden boy to be on HBO.

if you're aiming to become popular with american boxing fans then signing with GBP is always a good start.

do you think he should have signed to one of the german promoters instead?

No. He's better off being a free agent.

I think Haye did the right thing.

GBP can land him the best fights and that's what he is after.

Nothing really surpising here, I wrote the following post on April the 15th:

,,I don't know whether this is posted here before, but according to my mate who was at the ABA's, Adam Booth told several people that he will go the States shortly to negotiate a deal with Golden Boy promotions."

is there a precedent? i won't be mean and use audley harrison as an example of failure, but have we ever had a british free agent who's managed to make it on the world scene?

Prince Naseem was a free agent towards the tale end of his career although like Hatton is using Maloney, Naz was using Hearns (as well as his brothers).

Collin McMillan did self promotion for a while. I think he may have gone to a promoter after.

any thoughts on why being a free agent will be better than signing with GBP? sorry, its going to have to be spelt out to me. this is for anyone to answer.

Well if he was a free agent, he could accept fight with King, Arum, GBP, Frank ****** or any other promoter.
