I bet you have!
I'll say this for both Mundine and Soliman, they always come in in good shape. Which is exactly as you'd expect of course, but not what we always get.

To make Middle he is gonna have to cut muscle which is what will hurt him bad because doing that will just damage his body for a long time. Should stay and fight Kessler and since he said he wanted to get revenge on all the men who defeated him, Well here is his chance at one of them.

I disagree.
Some of the things people are doing to make weight are pretty amazing.
There is a whole science behind it now with sodium and water manipulation etc and glycogen depletion as well as the typical dehydration methods. Lots of guys will take bowel prep so they literally have no shit in them when they are on the scales.
I dont really know how Kessler made SM. When you look at the pics of him and mundine kessler is clearly several kgs heavier despite being very close on the scales.
Mundine would not have to lose much to go to MW if he did it properly IMO.

so what did he weigh in at yesterday?
how much more does he need to lose.

I read somewhere he uses a drip to rehydrate!

I should mention that if he is currently doing those things i mentined above to make weight then he will be fucked at middleweight.
If that is him just walking up off the street then he shouldnt have trouble if he does it right...
but one has to doubt if he will do it right.

:lol: Mundine & the WBA Super Bantamweight Champ Caballero are about the same height funnily enough.:yep
just something I read:
After completing the weigh-in, fighters typically try to rapidly replace lost body fluids in an attempt to return to a normal state of hydration. However, the fighter is unlikely to eat and drink sufficiently because of the negative effects of fighting on a full stomach. In many cases the time between the weigh-in and first contest is usually insufficient for fluid and electrolyte balance to be fully re-established in muscles, or for the rehydration and replenishment of muscle and liver glycogen (ACSM, 1996; Yankanich et al., 1998; Clarkson, 1998).
Horswill et al. (1990, p.470) state, "The period between the weigh-in and competition is probably not enough time for wrestlers, boxers, and judo athletes to replace muscle glycogen." This is supported by Foster (1995, p.66) who identified that "The body takes from 4 to 48 hours to fully recover from moderate dehydration, which means there isn't enough time between weigh-in and the match to ensure peak performance and health."
In that case Mundine should be able to make it down to featherweight.

Yeah, but mundine does have 30 hours to recover. The time frames your study was referring to are not what professional boxers are subject to.
To be honest I prefer shorter weigh in times. I really think that the extended weigh in - fight time is poor judgement.
What I am saying is, with the extended periods between weigh ins every athlete tries to make the most of it. They will dehydrate the fuck out of themselves to make weight and come in 5kgs or more over the weight limit on fight day.
Some federations in america have a 3 day weigh in which is safer as everyone should be adequately hydrated, but on weigh in day the guys are walking around in a daze, dehydrated to fuck nearly requiring hospitalization and then on fight day they are 3 weight groups over what they should be fighting at.
I guess thats fair enough for highly motivated well paid, professional adults. They will all be doing the same thing so there is no relative advantage.
but people want those kind of time frames introduced for kids. What if some poor kid doesnt know or isnt allowed to do it but the other kid is? then you have a MW potentially fighting a LH.
Its nuts.
With shorter weigh in periods people wont be as stupid with their dehydration tactics, because if they do they wont be able to perform properly and get fucked up in the fight.

Does anyone know the official weights?
LeonMcS
05-28-2008, 04:19 AM
At last night's official weigh-in, both fighters tipped the scales under the 76.2-kilogram maximum weight limit, with Mundine 75.1 and Soliman 75.2.

i remember someone posting on here that mundine walks around at about 5kgs above the midde weight limit. so its not impossible if that is the case.
