Hi I’m 16 years old and about 59 and a half inches tall but by the time I grow up I want to be about 6’3. Any healthy tips to get taller quickly?

Human growth hormone is the only thing that you could take to increase your height beyond it's genetic potential, which is clearly out of the question. Though you should try to get as much sleep as you can as the brain does release human growth hormone after 2 hours of sleeping. Which is probably why I'm such a runt as I rarely got more than 6 hours sleep a night during most of my teens.

Dude, I was 5'9'' when I was sixteen, too. Guess what? I'm 23 and I'm still 5'9''. But if I'd only eaten me spinach, I'd be the white Shaq.

I am 6'3, when I was 16 I was probably one of the shortest guess in the whole year. Don't give up hope. Keep drowning yourself in milk. :deal

As long as you eat healthy and in sufficient amount and don't do excessive weight lifting you will grow to your genetic determined height.

On a serious note, there is about a 0.0001 percent chance you'll grow to be 6ft 3in in the next three or four years. Unless you develop some sort of freak tumour on your pituitary gland or something like that, I doubt you'll make it over 5ft 7in. And you'll only reach that with a bit of luck.

Height is 90% genetics, 10% eating.
Somehing like that, anyway.

That's 9 years to grow 1 foot - that isn't exactly UNHEARD OF, bricks.

I've been 176-178cm for a couple years now, I'm filling out and growing taller still though.

Truthfully? No. Not 6ft 3in... But that's okay. You could still grow to be tall looking; 6ft, 6ft 1in. People exaggerate their heights anyway - my mate says he's 6ft 2in but he's the same height as me, if not slightly shorter, and I'm 6ft (at sixteen I was about 5ft 10in). I remember back in school when we about 15, my mates used to say "yea I'm 6ft 1in" but in reality, they were 5ft 10in at best. Height has been exagerrated so much that most people would be shocked to find out they're shorter than they thought they were.

You can normally tell when your height growth is starting to slow down because you start getting wider and bigger built. I'm still slim at the moment and am hoping to grow to 6ft 1in then stop. My dad was always slim until about 19 and he started filling out; now, you might even be able to describe him as stocky.

Dont lift "heavy" or take 'roids, these can cause your growth plates to fuse together prematurely & stunt your growth.

That's what I thought you meant. How tall is your mom? dad?my dad's about 6'1 , I dunno about my mom but she's shorter then me, still pretty tall for a woman though

i lift 6 kg weights and use this machine for chest expansion, u know where u stretch it infront of ur chest to make it stronger. Could that be affecting it? I am more then capable of heavy lifting but i don't do it.

I gain some info that exercise or stretching your body have get you taller. it said, causes the body to produce human growth hormones called EIGs (exercise induced growth hormones). Human growth hormones harden cartilage, strengthen bones and make you grow taller. I think this is a very great news to some athletic.

The weights thing is largely a myth.

But if you're lucky genetics might prevail and add a few inches on you

The whole "lifting weights will stunt your growth thing" is a myth. I've been lfiting since I was 17 (I'm 20 now) and I'm almost hitting the 6' 1" mark.

Well you obviously ruined your potential to be a 7 footer with the lifting then. :D

I'm pretty tall in comparison to my family members.. I'm 6ft maybe 6'1 while my dad is only 5'10 and mom is roughly like 5'7. My two older brothers are 5'10 and like 5'7. The difference between me and them is that I loveeeee dairy products. I'd eat yogurts all the time, drink milk, eat cheese lol.. So to say that it's simply up to genetics is a bit misleading. Sure it's mostly dependent on genetics and if your parents are both 5'5 and 5'6 it's hard to believe the child would get to a 6'5 height, but a highly calcium concentrated diet along with other vitamins and good sleep has never done anyone any harm! Unless their lactose intolerant of course.
