4.50pm First sign of intelligent life. I'm at the Paddo in Mt.Hawthorn Perth and some schmuck introduces himself after seeing my fight magaines in front of me.
4.53pm Readjust my earlier sighting, the guys obviously a retard, has no idea. Undercard kicks off, crowd, 2 people.
*Ok, its 5 hrs later and a lot of beers, so we'll just fly from my beer stained notes
Expert commentators, Jason Dunstall (?) & Barry Michael...whilst just keeping my beer down hear BM say "Gee Choc your looking lean' and barely make it to the mens before the vomit comes.
1st bout, Frank La Porto vs Sudesh Sharma, not a good sign when FLP name is spelt wrong. My notes; empty arena, usaul Choc u/card, over at 2;30 in the first.
Post fight interview...FLP...man of few words...like the fact he has a warm up bout 5 weeks before an Australian title defence.
Cut to celebritys in crowd...amid cries of 'who the fuck?' realise its Fox cross promoting Australias next sheep shagger or something...

3rd bout; Ahmed Elomar vs opponent, friends arrive so I expect the expected. My notes read 'who cares' but by the fourth Elomar does as his knocked down and out, big shock against a 5-13 opponent. Sam supporters take heart
4th bout; more pissed, less notes. Foley vs Montaz(?)...all i can decode is why showboat after 0 wins and two losses...also 'only plus, cant hear Barry Michaels commentary...' jeez I'm bitter
5th bout, thought it was a TD4 but ruled TKO4 to Porky.
Crowd restless. Market researchers descend on me cos I'm drinking Guinness.
