Causing an automatic rematch and more PPV money dished out of fight fans pockets.

Well, it's in Arums "financial" interest to keep Cotto undefeated. Margarito has proven to not be a huge draw, so it worries me that Margarito would get ripped off if it went to the cards.

I think its safe to say if the fight went to the scorecards it would be in Cotto's favor due to the fact that he would have most likely survived Margo's onslaught and Cotto was able to outbox him. If Margo was the winner Its more probable that he defeated Cotto via TKO/KO.

He has both fighters signed to contracts so I don't think so. It's really a win-win for him. And believe me after the offer he made to Mayweather many times he knows that's beating a dead horse. He isn't banking on Mayweather to pull through anyways.

I think he'll let the best man win. If anything the judges themselves might be swayed to score rounds for Cotto just because he's undefeated. We've seen it many times before noteably with Glen Johnson kinda guys getting robbed. Margarito kinda fits that bill.

Anyways you know if this is a damn good fight there will be a rematch.

True but in his last regular HBO fight. Margo had nearly a million more viewers for his fight than Cotto did in his.

I don't understand. Their respective last fights were fought on the same night, on the same channel.

Yes and 1.8 million watched Margo fight Cintron. Once Cotto came on, the viewers dropped to a million.

Lowest ratings ever for WCB - Not sure what the ratings were for Margo-Cintron fight (I went back to the post and saw it was referring to Calzaghe-Hopkins free fight, not Margo-Cintron)

Maybe Arum wants to cash in on Cotto with this fight after all. interesting.

Will Bob Arum let Margarito win if it goes to the score cards? Simply... no. Unless Margarito dominates, but I really don't see that hapenning unless he were to cut or knock Cotto down early.

Either way, regardless of the politics, this is one of the best match-ups boxing has seen in a long time. :hey

There's no need to be afraid Cotto will TKO Margo by the 11th. :yep
Now your mind can be set at ease.

If it goes to the score cards, no matter the effort Margo put, Cotto will get the victory. Oscar called out Arums most marketable dog, that is a mega $$$ fight. Oscar fucked Margos chances in winning a decision once he called out Cotto.

This thread is lame, Arum has both fighters signed, with an international panel of judges. Obviously as with any boxing fight there is a risk of it being miscalculated, but no more so than any other fight.

I can't imagine the numbers for Margo-Cintron were much different. Close to one million viewers turning off the channel between fights is unprecedented.

Very good question But its to my beleif that if Arum had influences on the judges he would probably allow Tony to win simply becuase a loss on Cotto wouldnt be as costly he could keep both guys active if Tony wins, if Tony losses I dont know where he goes from here one thing is for sure, if Tony gets whipped which I doubt but if he does, Mayweather might grow a set and fight him so it could work out either way.

He's making that up cause regardless if it was the lowest in HBO history Cotto was the draw whether you are a hardcore boxing fan or a mainstream fan.

That article that was referred a few posts back does not differentiate between the Margo/Cintron and Cotto/Gomez.

Usually the shows are rated as a whole. Thats like saying show "A" had 2.1 ratings during the first half hour and then 3.4 rating during the 2nd half hour of the show. Or the undercard sold 50K PPV and the main event sold 350K PPV.
