I am amazed at the logic in boxing, PBF and Cotto had a recent common opponent, Zab Judah, both won , but in different fashion, the logical thing to do is have PBF match up against Cotto and not against a guy the his first taste at 147 was a disaster…..sure Hatton took care of Castillo in impressive fashion, but did he faced the Castillo that fought PBF and Chico….well no…so what’s the urge for this match, Collazo was able to dance circles around Hatton..I can only imagine what a faster and sliker PBF will do…

Well, its PBF's desire for one thing:good In reality he should face both men.

Floyd likes to go after the most winnable fights.
A fight with Hatton is much more winnable for him in my opinion than Cotto or Mosley.
cotto is the harder fight for pretty boy imo.

I'd rather see that fight @ 147 than any other fight.
Maybe next year or so. Mayweather's most makeable fights now are Hatton, and then Mosley.
If Arum wanted to make Mayweather-Cotto, he would've tried to push for it, but he kept trying to make Mayweather-Margarito. Then he could make Margarito a bigger name, maybe it'll help sales if he fights Cotto.

There are a # of fighters he should fight. You guys clamored for this fight for over a year, and when Hatton beat Castillo everyone was back on the train.
PBF has a few fighters he should fight. He can't fight them all at once. So lets see what happens after he fights Hatton (if he fights Hatton). Remember, up until this weekend, it seemed Cotto was going to fight Margarito.

The only reason why I want to see PBF-Hatton over PBF-Cotto right now is because the fight should have taken place in 2005 and Hatton called him out after the Hatton-Castillo fight.
I do realize Cotto will be a harder fight for PBF.

Man you guys better pay attention...Cotto as well as Margo are with Arum...we seen the Hype train end already with Margo.......now im not saying Cotto is anything like Margo...but.....man if he throws Cotto in with a skilled slick boxer like PBF or Shane and things could get ugly for Cotto.

That is a stupid as reason to want to see this fight first, Cotto has shown he is much more worthy to fight Floyd than Ricky Hatton is, especially when you look at their common opponents Cotto knocked them all out while Floyd went the distance with them.
Which is exactly the reason Floyd is fighting Hatton, he knows good and well Cotto is an entirely different package.

Both PBF and SSM are in for a night of hell with Cotto, win or lose. Cotto is breaking peoples bodies apart more and more every fight.
Cotto has every ability to make things just as ugly for his opponent as anyone in the division.

Hatton called Floy out, disrespecting his accomplishements. So I say let Floyd woop Hattons ass and then after we see whats good with Cotto.

Using common opponents is fine, when you are looking at if they won or lost and even how they won in the sense of how dominant they were.
But you CANNOT use the "Cotto KO'd all their common opponents" BS as an argument. The slugger will always come out on top in that argument. PBF is a boxer, so that means NOTHING.

Because Floyd doesn't want to fight guys that he perceives as a threat.

This I agree with, the man did call him out did talk some shit especially after how many fights we have seen him fight like Ruiz? he deserves this beating, However Floyd does need to stop avoiding the real threats to him out there beating hatton is not going to secure his legacy neither will his win over an older De La Hoya, Floyd needs to be in a fight with one of these young guys, a Chavez Taylor like war to cement his legacy, Cotto would be the perfect guy to present that kind of fight to him, and if Floyd wins there he will defently be considered a true all time great right now yeah he is an all time great but people will say he made that out of good match making.
Judah is a skilled slick boxer. He got fucked up like a car wreck.
Yep, and many here thought Judah was going to destroy Cotto.
Many on this forum dont understand boxing, or havent boxed. A preasure fighter such as Cotto with a brutal body attack is a great style contrast for a slick boxer with the skills of Mosely or PBF.

Further evidence of this can be found in Malignaggi's broken face.

Or Branco´s dislocated shoulder, or Quintana telling his corner he was a dead man and refusing to continue.
I think Floyd would probably squeeze a decision, but the posters here who think Floyd makes a fool out of him cause he has a cooler jump rope routine or is fancier on the mitts need to re-evaluate the situation.

no i understand boxing, and I box as well. And i picked Zab to win. Which he could of. WHat Zab should have done was use use jab to keep Cotto off him, whenever Cott got in, tie him up. And pick his shots. As bad a beaten Zab took in that fight all it would took was one uppercutt. And when Zab had Cotto hurt, he smothered his punched, thats the main reason why Zab didnt get him outta there.
I take nothin from Cotto he did wat he had to do that night. But if Zab gets his boxing iq up, he coulda wooped him. Floyd has a way better boxing iq than Zab, and he will beat Cotto if and when they were to fight

Of the guys @ 147 (and 140 with Hatton), with the exception of Paul Williams, I think Cotto gives Floyd the most problems.

Thats cool, so long as the Cotto fight is on the agenda.

Light years? No.
my friend Judah is light years away from the Skill set of PBF and SSM...please know that!
WRONG! :nono
He has the skills in the same category as FMJ and SSM, and they would tell you that too. His speed (hand speed, not foot speed or reaction speed) is greater than FMJ´s. He has more power than either one of them at 147lbs with one punch. He has tremendous pedigree as an athlete.
What he lacks is all on the mental side. Its all mental.

hatton has accomplished more than cotto at this point and so is as worthy as anyone to fight pbf, he did have a poor showing against a slick southpaw in collazo in his first fight at 147 but still took his belt, but he made a top 3 p4p fighter quit and just ko'd a guy in 4 rounds who had never been down and who gave pbf his toughest ever fight. and he's the 140lb ring champ.

Floyd has the november ppv date and if he does not fight then Cotto/Shane get it. That is a good fight. Pbf/hatton is a money fight and just to shut hattons ass up. Floyd/cotto is real pure boxing match-mega fight something we all want to see. Floyd fans and haters alike. We all agree for a change.

Ask PBF to cut the craps and get his ass to sign to fight Coto or Mosley . . . and these fights will happen.
Realistically, a Mosley/Cintron fight will be next . . . forget Hatton he won't climb back to 147. :yep
Would you honestly rather see Hatton fight PBF than Cotto?
yes i would, but if pbf will bveat hatton so easily, cotto can fight him after, just wait a few months more. hatton deserves a shot as much as everyone, and will surprise a lot of people when he fights (and beats) him.
