First off,

yes, the fight was a disgrace and obviously fixed............but the boxers were not in on it!!

so to hell with the german boxing firms, but lets give credit to where credit is due.......and airich has to get a big hand.

airich came in regarded as not much of a prospect. other prospects from germany were regarded more highly.
airich was a mere afterthought.

but from what i saw, i was very impressed. with that power alone, i think he would knock out both kober and kretschmann.
had he been more experienced (i mean what kind of a nutcase puts in a fighter with only ten fights against bums in with a guy ranked 18 in the world by boxrec???)........say after 20 fights and some rounds under his belt, he would have beaten williams.

so unless this fight has broken him, i think he can make some serious noise!!

cause one thing is for sure: he will always be fun to watch!

No, he wouldn't, he fought them before they turned pro and he was always a step below Köber and Kretschmann. He hits reasonably hard alright but it's no big power like for example Virchis, he can't rely on getting the one shot in and he can't outbox someone on contender level which makes him very average. And btw, he didn't fight only bums, he fought Mazikin who is a pretty decent boxer and that fight told eveyone who didn't know Airich before what you need to know. I was surprised as well that he did good in the first coouple of rounds but this has obviously more to do with the gradual deterioration of Williams in the last years, the wear-and-tear is affecting him, he was in a lot of wars and took a lot of punches.

As soon as DW decided to throw punches Airich was in big trouble.

BTW: Williams needs to retire or he will soon be a nursing case.

now i knew about the mazikin fight, but mazikin is only in it for the money at this point. he took a dive vs solis and came in totally out of shape for the airich fight.
so bum may have been a bit harsh, but certainly not impressive.

as for the two germans kober and kretschmann, from what i remember of their amateur days, both showed weak chins as amateurs. in fact, i can remember kober getting knocked unconcious by alexander povernov and kretschmann getting mauled by mauled in two rounds by weak chinned michael bennett at the world championships. and there were several other ocasions when both spend lots of time on the canvas in the ams.

airich may have lost to both in the ams (did he, cause i cant remember them meeting??), but he seems to be a guy who excells in the pro game.

from what i have seen of both kober and kretschmann, they both seem to be very reluctant fighters, especially koeber seems afraid to get get hit. and dispite their totally blown up ko records, neither seems a serious puncher.

now airich on the other hand hurt williams even when he only landed a jab!!!!!!!!!
and coming to think of it, the ref may have even done his a disservice when he gave williams the standing counts. had he allowed airich to just tee off, the fight may have been over in round two.

hey, even williams said he was SHOCKED when he felt airichs punch........dispite the fact that he had expected airich to be a puncher!

so i cant see kober winning. when i saw him get tagged a little by some of the bums he fought so far, he seemed freeze a little, even though the guys had no power. he clearly appeared stressed out when he stared catching some mild blows.
that is not a good sign.

were airich and kober to fight, i would pick airich to walk right through him and stop him quick.

airich hits hard and is strong, but nothing special. he wont make it to top euro level imo.

but this german kober with the gay haircut is not going places either. i think airich would beat him.

Seems to have a decent dig and is aggressive. I quite like him. What I think is important is to not tar Airich with the same brush as the corrupt cunts at ringside.

Spot on, even Airichs trainer was giving strange whilst glancing towards the bell area when the bastard promoter ended the round early.

airich broke his hand and will require surgery, still like the platov fight, the less experienced guys started well against the cagey williams but ran out of puff, luckily for platov the fight was stopped on a cut

Ditto. I thought Airich was blameless. I can't say the same for the people surrounding him but it's nice to have a banger like Airich in the mix. It will be interesting to see what he does from here on in. :good

Not a bad fighter.

Maybe they can match him up against Dimitrenko. Would be more interesting to see than Dimitrenko vs some unknown American journeyman

Fixed????

Airich would knock out both Koeber and Kretschman???

I guess that I must have missed something. As far as I can remember Airch luckily scored a draw against Mazikin in one of his last fights.

Unfortunetely, I had to attend a party with my wife and couldnt watch Williams vs Airich.

Airich fun to watch?? Damn! He must have looked incredibly impressive against Danny Williams then.

Good post,nbt!

Airch must have looked exceptionally good against Danny!

I for my part would always favour both Koeber and Kretschman against Airich.

I've only seen Airich and Kretschman once(their last fights) but from that I'd have to go with Airich as the better of the two as Kretschman seems lethargic and inactive in the ring . He's got decent size and isn't particulary bad at anything but he just doesn't seem that good at anything either .

Airich is definitely the bigger puncher and seems to have a better attitude in the ring .

Then again I'm only going on 7 rounds from each fighter but that's what I've seen so far .

It was a crazy decision to put him in with Williams after only ten fights. Not only was Williams far too experienced for Airich at that stage of his career, but he also had a four stone weight advantage as well. That's just downright bad management imo......What would have hapened if Airich had won, who would Oner have put him in with next.....Klitschko?

That loss actually helped Airich's career.

williams is reported to have said that he had heard airich could punch............but he was still shocked when he got hit. he thought that airich had loaded gloves. williams was quoted as saying: "the man can punch like vitaly klitschko".

sure it sounds just like another of those hollow overly nice compliments fighters make after fights, but in this case, take a close look at williams face in rounds one and two after he got hit a few times. he really looks shocked.
