This Friday little known Andreas Seran, an Indonesian-born West Australian based Middleweight, will challenge the high profile former World Title challenger Shannan Taylor for the vacant PABA Middleweight Title. A potential WBA top 15 ranking could be up for grabs. The bout is the main event on Fox Sports and is promoted by former Australian boxer Jamie Myer.
Seran has been dedicating himself and training hard for this bout. Seran’s trainer, West Australian Craig Christian states “Andre has been working hard in the gym for a couple months now since his last fight in Indonesia. He will come into the ring fully fit, and prepared to go 12 hard rounds if necessary.”
Some impressive names appear on Seran’s resume, including spirited efforts with WBA Middleweight World Title challenger Jamie Pittman and current Australian Middleweight Champion Junior Talipeau. Seran prides himself on his heart, determination and fitness inside the boxing ring. Craig Christian goes on saying “Andre is coming to give his all and I don’t know whether Shannan Taylor has been training hard for the fight, but if he comes anything less than 100%, he is in for a rude shock. If this turns out to be the case I would expect Andre to stop Taylor in the late rounds.”
Shannan Taylor’s career has been littered with many famous names, both from home & abroad. However in recent times Taylor has been quite inactive, with his last boxing match taking place in early September last year, where he suffered a huge gash on the head against Sonni Michael Angelo in the very 1st round. Craig Christian believes this will be a key factor come Friday evening. “Andre will by very busy, and Taylor’s inactivity will be something that affects him. Shannan will be relying heavily on his left hand to get him through this fight, but we have been preparing for it.”
In the recent days, Shannan Taylor has been touted as a potential opponent for Anthony Mundine as he is dropping down to Middleweight. In relation to this Craig Christian states “Andre is coming to mess up these future plans. We would love to fight Mundine next, but at the moment we are not focusing on that, Taylor is our first target!”
If there ever was a time for Andreas Seran to spring a surprise this is surely it, so tune in this Friday Night on Fox Sports from 7.30pm EST, or head to the Broadbeach Convention Centre on the Gold Coast to find out.
