A very talented kid, bless with Speed of hand and foot and he only 21.
With total focus on the gym he could win a world title and make a truck load of money, I think this kid could be special

We really can't tell his ultimate potential until he fights someone who isn't a stale tomato can

Tommy Browne isn't a tomato can :patsch
He is a world title challenger on two occasions, whom Kickett fought in his 8th pro fight.
Now he is fighting against St Clair, and ex world champion in his 11th pro fight. That isn't bad mate, what more do you expect.

I think Kickett will raise another level & beat St Clair convincingly.
St Clair has a very good chin, so i doubt he can stop him.:deal

He is great to watch and always steps up to fight tough. He has speed and what looks to be good power, i havent seen him hurt or even worried in the ring so far.
He boxes like a 5 year pro to me.
What weight do people think he should fight at? He looked strong last week but he isnt a big lightweight like the Andy R says, .. is he?
Willie !! fight at 130 !!

Willie !! fight at 130 !! His team want him to fight at 130, as far as everyone is aware he can make that weight relatively easily.:good
He only walks around about the 140 mark when not in training, maybe a touch over.
He took the Gerongco fight on 1 days notice & weighed at 137.

At his age he should push himself to fight at 130. Iv always gone with the thinking of getting as low as you can but still be strong.
Kicket 120-108 St Clair.

Are you trying to say something retard??
Khan beat him 120-108 on all three cards.
Plus if you throw only 20 punches a round , you not winning any rounds in Aus.
Do you agree Leckie?
ps. im still a Medium t-shirt size :hey

Kickett is good but not that good........ Against Browne in the early rounds he was getting hit easily and looked no faster than Browne so we'll see. If Kickett wasn't indigenous i don't think there would be as much hype to be honest. Hopefully he doesn't get rushed too much and ruined, he is so young and i think he needs to develop some more strength to mix it with the best.

Why would he get hyped because he's indigenous? I think the anticipation surrounding Kickett's career stems from his mad skills. Is there any Aussie fightes that you do like or are you one of these guys that calls any fighter that isn't amongst the world's elite bums?

I like plenty of aussie fighters, i like Kickett. I really don't think he is as good as he is made out to be though, he looks better than he actually is because he is ambidextrous, he doesn't twist his waist when he punches so he doesn't have alot of power, he's not that fast and i think people get excited over a young aboriginal because we've had some great aboriginal fighters in the past. Kickett is nowhere near the athlete that Mundine is.

Well he looks good at this level. He hasn't fought some of the better boxers in the division. But ah he's beaten alota of blown up journeyman. I wanna see Kickett against someone with power and speed. A legit lightweight, a solid test and hit out if you will. But he does looks the goods..Khan made St Clair oridnary. But ah Kickett will be competitive in any level or arena overseas. I think he dominates here: Zappa what!? forget about it. Kickett will beat him, gauranteed..

Fuck some of you are harsh.
Willie fought Browne after only 7 pro fights. Browne went in at 23-4 with two of his losses in world title fights!!! Don't underestimate what's required against a classy, experienced fighter like Browne.
Kickett is a rare gem indeed. He has the attributes that can't be taught, you either have them or you don't. Great reflexes, hand/eye co-ordination and brilliant hand speed, presented from God himself to the chosen few.
His team are doing a great job without keeping him in cotton wool. While he amassed an impresive record as a youngster in the amateur ranks it takes time to become comfortable against the hardend pros. Willie has been able to step up when required and I don't know what more can be asked from a 21 year old.
Comparisons with Mundine don't work, they're so different in many ways. Choc had the advantage of entering boxing via another professional sport while Kickett had a long amateur career...Choc had 4 fights. After 10 pro fights Kickett is fighting G.StClaire while Mundine had already fought for a world title (which in hindsight was insane.) IMO Kickett has just as much natural ability as Choc and isn't anywhere near his full potential.
While I'm not aware of his exact record before going pro, I believe that Kickett won a vast majority by KO. He has enough power for it not to be an issue.
In 2 to 3 years time you'll see a much improved fighter ready to take on the world.

I agree, it's hard to compare though, both naturally talented. Kicket had an amatuer career, while choc would have learned a shit load watching and training with his dad. St. Claire will be a good test for him.

I disagree, small guys are meant to have these attributes and Kickett has them no more than Browne does. Nothing wrong with that but on a world stage compared to some guys in the weightclass he is slow, add to that his lack of power and you have a guy who is going to dissapoint everyone who thinks he is the future of aussie boxing. Might be harsh but it's true. Hope i'm wrong.
Kickett has a good steady base to work from. If he tightens up his defence ala PBF like Mundine did then he will go places. He has all the punches in the book.
