Do they record the commentary live?

I'm talking about recent fights within the last 5 years

The Showtime and some of the others are the original commentary.

For some others, such as Holyfield-Bowe, Foreman-Holyfield, Whitaker-Ramirez, etc...it is not.

If it's Joe Mesi doing commentary and Joe Tessitore, for an old fight like Holyfield-Bowe or Robinson-Gatti that was on HBO, then it's probably done over.

Yea, some of them are done after the fact . . . kinda odd.

They have the rights for the Showtime broadcasts or whatever, but not HBO.

So they have to go over it and do new commentary. Or when Tyson was fighting on HBO, they have Bob Sheridan's overseas commentary.

But they try to pass it off as it was in the moment. thats why its odd.

I don't like it. It just sounds funny when they're trying to act surprised.

I know, or when they "bravely" predict what "might happen" later in the fight.
