I talk on a AOL message board and apparently their are some rumors that Dana White has a major announcement and some are speculating that it is announcing the signing of Mayweather. Not sure I believe it, but Mayweather is so full of himself that he could "Retire" from boxing and then go do UFC...or wrestle, or something...lol

Only a dumb motherfucker would give up a 20 million dollar plus payday to go to another sport and make ten times less to get his ass kicked.....

So yeah its possible

Well Dana is all about making more money for himself and Zuffa although barley any of it goes to the fighters then if they stand up to him he decides to have them cut or put it horrible stylistic fights.

Mayweather will get crushed into millions of little pieces in UFC. ONce he gets taken to the ground and can't use his boxing skills I think he gets submitted rather quickly

It would actually be hilarious if he turned out to be some natural jiu jitsu prodigy.

If that happened I think that Dana white and Joe Rogan would organize a mass group suicide.

Now, what possible reason could Floyd have for going to UFC? This can be filed in the really dumb rumor department.

even on his feet mma is so different he will get owned by some of these guys just standing. Because you can take a guy to the cage and punch in the clinch.

I think it's safe to say that a 145 pound MMA fighter would be best advised to shoot on Floyd early. :yep

Dumb idea. People aren't stupid enough to box with Mayweather, he would just be taken down and manhandled.

Alright, BJ Penn vs. Floyd Mayweather, who wins!!!!!!!!!

Obviously, this is a stupid question, it makes about as much sense as saying who would win - Michael Jordon or Tiger Woods.

Because, Mayweather and Penn are both athletes - that's where the similarities end. Mayweather is a professional boxer, and Penn is a mixed-martial artists.

So, Floyd knocks Penn out in a boxing match, and Penn submits Floyd in a MMA match. What would either event prove?

The answer is nothing.

Let's stop comparing these two wonderful sports. It's like chocolate and orange juice; you don't mix them, you appreciate them seperately.

I never compare these two sports and like both of them, so don't label me as a hater. Mayweather loses no doubt in my mind, but I am arguing that NO ONE would stand and trade with him; that would be the dumbest move ever

Another cameo in WWE or a film is more likely.

When a world champion does make the transition to the UFC, which will def happen eventually, it wont be a defensive slickster like Mayweather itll be a comeforward power puncher with 12 months take down defence training in the bag. imo a hard hitting boxer with the correct defensive abilities will inevitably win the UFC title, that is basically what Chuck Liddel is/was and he isnt much of a boxer.

Mayweather would never fight in MMA.

No way in hell, that's ridiculous. You think he doesn't have the motivation for some really big-money fights(DLH rematch or Cotto) yet he will have the motivation to benefit a "sport" he always bashed on?, doesn't make sense and there's no way they'll offer him more money the boxing fights he can go for.

With the correct trainers and a lot of time to train in wrestling and jiu-jitsu, so he could adapt to MMA and then being fed easy opponents to begin with, it´s possible for him to do ok in that sport.

But I think if he had trouble motivating himself for boxing, he probably won´t be getting into another sport at all. Most likely he´ll opt for advertising and acting, like in the WWE or small roles in TV shows / movies.

:huh

There's nothing major about Gomi anymore after he looked like shit and lost to a high Diaz.

Trust me, i agree but they did do an article on him training at extreme couture. And the UFC people don't give a flying shit about his loss. He's a big name. Remember, it was suppose to be Rua vs Liddell for today's UFC main event. Rua, after getting starched by Forrest Griffin, getting the main event.
