Two rumours going around regarding Dana Whites HUGE announcmnet next week.

1) Anderson Silva stepping up to 205 to take on the UFC's finest at this weight. His debut being against Chuck Liddell at UFC 88.

2) Rumours from American Kickboxing Academy that Floyd has been training the ground game and will fight in the UFC. There are rumours that Dana has mentioned a "big boxing superstar" fighting for the UFC during his time in England for tonights UFC 85 card.

I'd be happy with either coming true  but i'd filll my pants if Floyd actually went ahead with this.

It's probably no.1 but if it is no.2 noone can say that Floyd is ducking boxings finest at 147.

Floyd is walking away from $20 Million to fight where $1Million is considered HUGE? I'm more apt to think his retirement talk is something he learned from his budz over at WWE or whatever they call it now. He stands a chance of getting hurt even by a can in the UFC.

The odds of Floyd fighting in the UFC are extremely low  but you never know.

It's probably a major TV deal or Anderson Silva vs Liddell.

We'll find out soon enough.

i don't know wtf floyd is trying to prove but the way i see it floyd is smart, remember he had that talk with mark cuban. I think what floyd is doing is making himself a household name, i really think he's gunning for popularity. Perhaps the money would be less in UFC than what he earns in boxing but think of that as an investment

He's not gonna leave the sport he has mastered and gotten rich from to go to another sport that is 10x more dangerous to him for 10x less money.....i just can't fathom the idea.

That "boxing superstar" could be Kermit Cintron.....i remember him saying that he would fight Sean Sherk at lightweight if given a chance. He was a wrestler for a bit.

Please be Silva-Liddell. All Floyd will do is embarrse another combat sport.

It will be Silva-Liddell before it's ever Mayweather in MMA. That's just not going to happen.

If Floyd could get a half decent ground game, he'd be unstoppable.

Yes Floyd retiring is worse than Shane Mosley using illegal substances.

HMM yes we can. Thats exactly what he would be doing. If he is not fighting in boxing then that can be considered "ducking boxing finest at 147". I have read some of your posts and you seem to be, hmmm.... how do i say this.

1. This probably belongs in the MMA forum, despite it being somewhat about Floyd Mayweather, who ducks the ODH rematch, retires, says it's not about money, leaves plenty of great boxing superfights out there, etc.

2. It would be stupid as hell for Anderson Silva to move up to the Light Heavyweight division. Even though he would have a good chance, being a better, more creative striker than Liddel, he has plenty of solid matches that he would win at Middleweight (Okami, Tanner-Grove, Le, etc.).

3. I'm waiting for a real professional boxer, I mean a good one, to learn a little ground game and walk to the Octagon. It would be awesome. Kermit Cintron has said he wants to do it, because he was actually a high-school wrestler.

How can you be so sure? Anyone can get knocked out, especially against a man with brilliant hand skills like Money Mayweather.
