Werdum just stopped Vera. Joe Rogan calls BS on the stoppage - but I'm not so sure.

I personally thought it was a BS stoppage. He looked fine, his head was moving, he had his arms up protecting his face. I thought the ref could have let it go on.

This is more like it! Great first round; both got rocked.

Marqart hits Leites with an illegal knee while he's down. Was a good move though!

Glad they're letting the fight continue.

Leties won by SD
Marqart had two points deducted during the fight. One for knee to the head of a grounded fighter and the other for striking the back of the head.
Good fight.

Shame about the point deductions otherwise Marquardt had Leites there.

Thanks for the update. I'm not surprised that happened. After the point deduction, Nate seemed to need a stoppage to win.

Nice kick catch with leg trip by Swick.
sugarngold

Swick controlled the majority of the fight. That point deduction could cost him the fight though.

Swick gets the decision - and rightly so. Am I the only guy that picked Swick to win this?

Bisping dominated him. Simple as that. At least of got one of my predictions right. 10 ponits right there.

They neither confirmed nor denied that Hughes would receive some of Alves's purse for failing to make weight. However, that is the standard penalty imposed by state athletic commissions in America. I don't know what the case is as this particular show is in the UK.

All over with knees. TBH the fight shouldn't have went ahead. 4lbs over the limit is a joke. Hughes is a spent force sadly.

It was a very impressive win. Weight issue aside, I don't think it would've mattered much.

Yeah, but look at the size Alves? He looked bigger than Bisping at 185. Sad to see a great fighters demise but he should retire now.

Firstly I forgot what side of the pond it was on and miss it. Secondly the I was pulling for Hughes and Vera and they both lost. Thirdly Matt Hughes needs to retire before he becomes a gate keeper and Vera needs to be at 205 where he belongs.

Werdum vs Vera was a fucking joke.
Werdum was tickleing Vera with those shots and that bald cunt stops the fight.
I was embarassed for both fighters.

Just got back from the o2 and overall it was a good show and had a good time. Its a shame Davis vs Swick was poor as I thought it would have been a decent match. During the 3rd round the crowd did a mexican wave :D . What prelims fights were shown on the main broadcast?
Need to stop doing fights in Britain or import our judges if that is true.. Britain is going to be the MMA's version of Boxings Germany.

Even though I think Hughes is a dick, his sort of speech at the end of the fight was incredible. He's definitely a UFC legend.

After he pounds the shit out of Serra he probably will.

Just caught the Alves-Hughes fight and here are a couple of thoughts:
1. The weight, though not a primary factor, was a factor.
Hughes inability to take-down Alves, much less keep him there, was enhanced by Alves utter lack of making weight.
2. Alves is crazy-strong. Hughes, at this stage, is not what he once was, but he didn't look terribly strong in the octogon with this guy. Who knows - mayb a superfight awaits Alves, in the way of Matt Serra? Georges St. Pierre? Jon Fitch? Diego Sanchez???
3. The stoppage was good, Hughes was being embarassed (the flying knee was sick) and hurt in that second round.
4. I hope this was Matt Hughes final fight. He went out on his sheild, taking on a tough, young fighter with a strength level and style not suited for him. He was a true legend of the MMA scene, a pioneer as well, and has already cemented his fine legacy with wins over BJ Penn, St. Pierre, AND Sean Sherk, among others.
5. BTW - Fabricio Werdum is for real. The stoppage, frankly, sucked. But the guys striking has been improving over the last two years, and we saw that here against Brandon Vera. Can't wait to see Werdum's next fight, I think he's going far.
6. Anderson Silva destroys Michael Bis-Ping-Ping. But it would be a hellavu fight to watch, with Bis-Ping-Ping's workrate and agressive stand-up game.
7. Ahh, Mike Swick. I expected him to win, and he did. He won't beat Silva, but he would make it interesting, considering his ability to strike.

Very disapointed for Hughes. Can not help feeling that Alves and his guys faked the weigh in shit just to get an advantage. Decent fight and Alves maybe after one more top level fight should be given a crack at GSP. Hughes should fight Serra then retire, both look out of it now.
Swick and Davis was disapointing again for me. I like Davis and thought he could cause a ripple down the line.
Lietes and Marfart was pretty good.
Werdun looked ok.
Bisping actually looked good. More than that he had a differeant demeanor tp that he usually enters the ring with. In recent fights he has looked like the loser even during his entrance, tonight he looked ready to fight. He has a decent all round game but does not stand out in any area.

Did I miss something? What fight(s) did the judges screw up? The only fight that was possibly controversial was the Marquardt fight, and even then the judges didn't have much of a choice but to score it the way they did due to the point deductions.

Another impressive win for Martin Kampmann after a long layoff, he is 4-0 in the UFC and was suppose to get a title shot before he hurt his knee over a year ago. my only prob with him is he seems to small and doesn't look very strong at 185....but so far he's getting the job done.
