1 rates the lowest
10 rates the highest.

By rating, I mean skill, power, tenacity, heart, speed, etc., the overall average.

I would say 8.

1 being a total bum, 10 being PBF.

He has underrated skills, and has the biggest heart of any boxer currently, for me. Probably the best jab-less boxer of them all!

Decent speed, good (though cumulative, not concussive) power - he doesn't use his full array though, always reverting to the left hook to head and body, with the well disguised straight right thrown in.

8.2 for me :)

PS. plus he is great for the sport, tho that isn't the reason i gave him an 8.2, that is for boxing skills only. Well 8 for skills, 0.2 being good for boxing lol

I would have him as 8, for reasons already stated.

That said, for me he is a sure Hall of Famer - not just for his abilities in the ring. Let's face it, when Lennox Lewis retired (probably before that as well) British boxing was dead in the water. Calzaghe was making endless meaningless defences of a WBO title, whilst Hatton was making the game popular again amongst the mainstream - which would have seemed very unlikely four years ago.

Im glad somebody else has recoginised his footwork :good

When i was arguing with the Witter fans they where saying how Hatton wouldnt get close. But as i said if you can close down Mayweather you can sure as hell close down Witter.

I voted 8

The footwork was one thing I missed, which is first class. He didn't get the angles going against Mayweather, meaning the screw shots weren't firing and the body shots lacked power.

He did get them going against Lazcano, but each time Juan looked ready to go the elbow came down just in time.
