with mayweathers retirement, there is a vacant slot opposite oscar on september 20th...ricky hatton has rules himself out of contention to face oscar and it would surely be too soon after the marg/cotto fight to fight the winner of that.

does that leave the door open for winky wright or would oscar not risk taking such a fight in his penultimate fight?

Winky Wright needs to fight someone, In all honesty I thought dude was retired..
(IMO, he don't deserve the money Shot Vs. Oscar)

Winky might bring alot of ring rust if not given a tune up fight, giving Oscar a good chance at beating him.

Oscar would never fight Winky. Oscar would be lucky to win 2 rounds from Winky.

Maybe? But I'll go ahead and disagree anyway...
Wright is all Wrong for anyone....Get it? All wrong "Right"

Exactly. His guard and that damn Jab not to mention underrated toughness and you have a disaster in the waiting for Oscar.

DLH will not get anywhere near Winky.

I dont believe Fraud is retired fore one second - The Fraud-DLH crappy rematch will still happen.

In the off chance it doesnt, look for DLH to go after Segio Mora.

Damn i've always wanted to see them fight.....i hope he compromises and gives him a chance.....only other name is cotto but i dunno if he'll be willing to go through the agony.

He won't fight mosley again....or mayorga.....no hatton....i would barf if he even mentions pacquiao.

Winky and DLH are both old time veterans and it would be an interesting match IMO.

If Oscar asked Winky to make 150 he would and I believe Oscar would win. Winky would have no energy to train dropping weight to 150...that might be the way to get a another HOF win on the resume for oscar!

Winky would probably need a tune-up first, but providing he's not too ring rusty he should decision De La Hoya.

You guys are missing THE key factor: $$$$. Winky won't provide a big fight. A fight with Tito, Mosley, Mora, etc makes more money sense. Plus, DLH would get his ass kicked against Winky.

Can Tito make 154 though after fighting last at 170? And is Mora really that bigger fight now? Everybody knows he's little more than a temporary champion who beat a shot and/or unfocused Forrest.

I'm almost certain Tito can't make 154. I think he would make 160 just for a fight with DLH and he would struggle to get there. But no way i think he can make 154. Even for a DLH fight.

Would DLH be willing to step up to 160 again then? After all he looked awful against Sturm and was gifted the decision and then get KO'd by Hopkins.

I doubt it. But a catch weight would make sense for both. Wouldn't you think? Maybe 158 or something?

Possibly. Tito would need to train like a bitch to make the weight though.

The one guy on Earth that can motivate him like no other is DLH.

True. They still have unfinished business after that MD.

How competitive do you think this fight would be btw?

I think it would be a good fight. Tito seems to be the naturally bigger guy but DLH is the much more skilled boxer with superior hand speed. But Tito's got that power. I guess that's why it will sell because it's not certain who will win. I would say DLH outboxes him but with Tito's supposed power, it would attract people to watch. He had a pretty good showing against RJJ. Well, only because RJJ didn't step on the gas.

I'd agree with DLH outboxing him, I'd probably pick him by UD if I had to bet, but you do wonder with Tito's power don't you as Oscar got caught a fair bit against Stevie Forbes.

Still, Tito would probably have to kill himself to make the weight as we've said and maybe he'd be too drained to carry his power down with him to 158 or whatever weight it is.
