Is this a correct assumption you are basically not going to get most of the top fights there and there is no Sho Time or HBO.

What is the best alternative going at the moment besides slinking to a PuB hoping they show something. What is the best bet from what is avaliable through cable, satellite or internet in Australia.

We basically only get 1 or 2 big US boxing cards a month sadly.
We will have Pacquiao vs Diaz & Cotto vs Margarito at least over the next couple of months.

Without the net we would not be able to watch any major fights, other than ppv.

We get ESPN Wednesday and Friday night fights. If you have Eurosport, you can watch some fights on there on Tuesdays. We get most of the major PPV's from America and a few from Europe on Setanta.
However, the media coverage of boxing here is poor. you really need to check the net on a regular basis to stay up to date.
We get no fights from Africa, Asia, South America or South Pacific on TV.

You could always check LeonMcS' wonderfully helpful stickied thread 'Canvas Classics' which lists the current weeks schedule on pay tv. Great man that LeonMcS and rumoured he has an enormous penis.

What piss's me off is that on the UK board someone wrote how they were getting Pacman vs Diaz and a heap of other big fights on Setanta but over here in in Oz we always get the shit fights.

Like Haye vs Maccinarelli

Its very dissapointing.

Thankyou.

It's always good to know who has the bigger penis. :hey

It helps take my mind off all the great fights that bypass the Australian airways and cable system.

Cunts.

in the good old days, big boxing fights were shown on free to air tv, but lesser fights were hard to watch

Now with the net and Channel BT, it's great. Just about every fight of consequence shown anywhere in the world can be downloaded. I stay away from boxing websites so no spoilers, download the weekend's fights then watch them as my own special custom fight night

last weekend there was Forrest v Mora, williams v Quintana, Pavlik v Lockett and De Leon

I just download the fights I want to watch off torrent sites. It's a shame but I don't think there's a big enough market for them to be televising international fights.
