Heh...good title!

------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional details have been released for the July 16 heavyweight crossroads rematch between former heavyweight champions Hasim Rahman and James Toney. The bout, billed as "Last Chance," will be for the NABO heavyweight belt and be televised live on FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show Period" from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. The event, which is presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions, Don King Productions and in association with Top Rank, will be officially announced on Thursday in Los Angeles. Toney and Rahman previously faced each other in March 2006, fighting for then-champion Rahman's WBC heavyweight title. The fight ended in a controversial draw.

All you tiny dicked Faggots keep talkin' your shit, because Toney is richer, and smarter and more talented than you and your Fathers and Uncles COMBINED, try to remember that. Toney has had a HELL of a ride, and has fought a who's who of boxing. Middleweight to Heavyweight Victories. IBF titles, WBU titles, WBA Titles, and what do you all have to show? Nothing? Little tiny pee pees? (LOL) Fuck any and all Toney hatas, if he loses, he goes out a winner, having done more in 15 years than all of you faggoty hatas COMBINED have done in your lifetimes, if he wins, he's back in the race.

Seeing as how these two fuckers are so out of shape, it should be called "Last dance" as thats all they gonna be doing.

considering the career Toney has had it shows how stupid some of you guys are to be ripping him.
he's done now though is JT...that's obvious from his last 2-3 fights.

I never much cared for Rahman as I thought he was B- at best. Toney is a ATG but not at HW. All the respect for his abilities but he really should hang up the gloves. Gl to them though.

I agree. Toney gets very little credit on this site, From the authors to the posters.

Rahman is a joke though. Seriously. If you gave him a title in his hand he would lose it again. Where would this guy be without Lennox Lewis?

Rahman is perhaps the luckiest "not so special" heavyweight ever, look back and see how many chances this guy gets, it is disgusting. Toney diserves his chance in my book, he never lost his WBA strap, and gave Samuel Peter hell in there first fight. Peter has even went on record saying toney is the best he has ever faced in the ring.

This Toney's last chance, rahman ran out of chances a long time ago!:deal don't know about that. toney seemed absolutely brain damaged in post fight interviews for peter 2 (and he looked very bad in the fight). toney's 40 and has been in tons of fights and despite his D he has taken some damage in the past few years. Add in the obesity and extreme weight loss/gain and steroid use and he has got to be shot. rahman has just imo looked lethargic and out of shape for the past several years and is "only" 35. i'd say toney is more shot at this point, but both should probably hang em up because rahman looks like he's had little motivation for years and is getting no younger.

I think Toney will win against Rahman.
Everybody says how badly he performed against Batchelder but Toney clearly won that fight. Dont understand how one judge gived it to Batchelder.

Anyway its good to have these older heavyweights fighting each other. I hope winner will get no.1 contender match to some of the belts.

Toney who looks like he was stuffing steriods in his Burger King whoppers, in his 2nd fight with Peter in which he got his ass kicked is 40 and shot, Rahman who won the 1 st fight but was ripped off by the judges will win this and hopefully Knock him out this time..

Exactly ! Presciott is flipping the f**k out but the fact is what does this fight offer ??

Toney was a fantastic fighter but as Ive said elsewhere , Jirov was his last great ( by his own high standards ) performance , and he IS starting to sound punchy , why would anyone who admires him want to see this

As for Rahman , he's had trouble with his conditioning his whole carreer but now , yikes !

Toney was a true master , an ATG no question but his time is done !

you hit the nail on the head mate!
James Toney is a great fighter, a future hall of famer. he is in my top 3 p4p list. 1) Sam langford 2) James Toney and 3) SRR

i am shocked that people think toney is a joke, it goes to show how uneducated you are about the sweet science. all i eva hear is fat jokes about toney, orite i can understand it sometimes but when everyones tryna get there fat jokes in, it gets abit shit. this shows how great toney is, he can be fat and out of shape but still whoop a$$.

this guy you keep dissing is a much better fighter than RJJ who relies mainly on reflexs and speed. he doesnt have the skill and isnt a betta fighter overall than toney at his best. niether is bhop, who i am a fan off would have got stopped if he fought toney, also bhops resume is nothing when put next to toney's resume!

Rahman won the first fight and will stop Toney this time. Toney struggled against a can in his last fight, no way he wins this. To seriously trouble Rahman he needs some serious power and he lacks that, especially at 39 I'm pretty sure he'll have some serious stamina issues and will eat quite a lot of punches here. Full credit to him for still trying though.

My thoughts on this fight:
Toney's been declared dead several times in his career, and he always came back. I hope he can do it again, one last run for a belt at HW.
The Batchelder fight don't mean shit. I am more concerned about the long lay-off. Toney needs to get in shape, and do a lot of sparring to get his timing back. That's what he was missing in the second Peter fight, too much weigh-lifting and focus on weight, not enough sparring.
Toney shows a lot of insight. He knows he's done things wrong for his last fights, and that it's only his own fault. He's humble. That's a good sign. He knows it's do or die this time, an he really tries to get in shape. He always says this, but this time he means it, I believe he will be in good shape for this fight. He has a new trainer, it's an old-school trainer that he has to respect, not like Roach, that's also a good thing, it's a new start.
Toney is faded, no question about that. But Hasbeen Rahman is also faded. The first fight was the best Rahman I've seen except in the first Lewis fight. Toney was in his worst shape ever an got outworked, but he landed the better punches, the draw was just. This time Toney will probably do better (he can't do much worse) and Rahman will no be as good, so I'll say Toney wins this one.
Rahman is right about that the loser should retire. I'll go a step further: if Toney doesn't win a clear decision or by KO, if he don't look good, he should retire, even if he wins. He should retire with a last good name on his record. If he really looks good, he should try to rematch Ruiz and then go after Chagaev. Two very winnable fights for him. I don't have much time left, maybe one year - enough time to go for the WBA and then retire. But he has to look good doing so.
I believe James can do that - it's all up to him.

I have plenty of friends of mine who are fighters, Golota is just one of them.

You need to make some new friends Jack. Its not right for you to be so obsessed with a man like this...is Toney treating you right these days?

What about a victorious Toney going after the little Klitscko brother. You know, the one who Toney said had no power, at all.

But seriously..........

I don't really care who wins, though, but I do hope both of them come to fight in good condition and that both put on good performances, and most importantly, that both get caught on the chin, flush, repeatedly. LOL

So, who is training Toney now?
I think it's Shadeed 'Steve' Suluki. He trained Lamon Brewster and was assistant to the late great Bill Slayton.

Good choice, Toney needs nobody to teach him something, he needs somebody with authority over him that keeps him in the gym. It didn't work out with Freddie Roach any longer, Freddie was more like a buddie than a trainer, Toney is an old-school fighter and needs an old-school trainer. A hardcore trainer. It's a new start.

Toney lacks the power to take advantage of that, he landed some solid shots in the first fight and Rahman didn't care about them. Toney will most likely run out of gas early this time and will lack even more power as the fight goes on, not to forget that his defense will be piss poor, so expect Toney to hit the canvas instead of Rahman.
