Yes but not advisable.
Having said that there are a few exceptions - think Chavez jr had no amateur expereince but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

yes u can, i did it, it didnt went well but yes u can do it. not reccomendable though.
It depends on what state you are in if you are in the US. I think California you have to have am experience.

Amateur of course. I didn't see it as a goal previously, I thought sparring with the competing fighters was enough for me at age 32. But I'm doing good in the ring with them, so I thought why not test myself. It also gives me a goal in life again. I'll be fighting at 140 pounds, light welter. At the moment I'm 147 pounds, but I still have some fat to lose.
Talked to my coach about it yesterday, and he basically said what took you so long.
:happy :happy :happy

Sure, but don't throw your panties in the ring, it'll distract me :D
Sorry 'bout that

So am I. I'm working out with a completely different state of mind now that I decided to compete. Missing a workout is no longer an option.

Good luck Remco. Have they introduced the mandatory cap of 34 in the states yet for am? I know there are many people here in Canada who are less then thrilled about it.

End of the year, but more likely the beginning of next year. I just missed the boat for this year I think but it's not completely inconceivable.

Yeah there's a limit for 34 years of age, but as long as you fought before that age they'll let you fight. I'm not in the states btw, I'm Dutch.

Sexy :hey

I haven't been drinking much lately. If I can have a few beers once a month I'm fine, as long as it doesn't make me skip workouts. Being insanely drunk is only allowed on special days from now on, and I will run the next day no matter how shitty I feel.

Yes I noticed that after I hit enter. They are not allowing fights santioned here after the age of 34. It is essentially forcing some very good am fighters, and one I know of in particular who is a woman and fighting at a world class level, to go pro if they wish to continue competitively.

Y'know RDJ, you must not overdo training as your fight is still months from now. You might get overfatigued. How do you plan on addressing this issue?

How can he over train if his fight is months away? It's not a ten round pro fight, it's 8 minutes of amateur boxing he doesn't need to think about resting until a week before his fight.
