Just watched some clips of Duran including his defence against Lou Bizzaro ,a game Bizzaro frustrated Duran before he finally landed the big one ,the ref should have stopped it earlier imo.Any way Duran against Basilio who prevails?

Basilio a top ten 147er imo, very strong, aggressive, but very efficient with his shots imo, when taking it to a man, he looked very sharp. Duran though, on his best 147 night, would still be helll for a brawler. This is hard to pick, the argument could be made for Duran because of the styles-match-up, but Basilio has the natural size here, he did very well against Gavilan, and dropped the iron-chinned Kid aswell (not sure if Gavilan was off balance though?).

That said, this is a war, and Duan seldom loses them kind, he has the more finesse on the inside, and can catch Basilio when they are standing off one another with that amazing right, then follow it up with sickening assaults, i'll give it to Roberto in a classic

This one is tough at 147, Duran of the Leonard 1 fight a tough cookie but Basilio kept coming and could punch...close decision...Duran could edge it but so could Carmen

Roberto was a better boxer as I see it, and could counterpunch very well when the situation called for it. He'd realize early on that going the distance would be necessary here, and adjust accordingly. (But if they stepped into the ring tomorrow, Carmen would kick his ass, unless Roberto sat on him first!)

I believe Duran's technique is too good for Basilio. Duran's better form(shorter punches) and I believe edge in hand speed would allow him to beat Basilio to the punch much of the fight. Carmen would have his moments, but Duran would score most of the time. Duran UD

The Duran who beat Palomino, Cuevas & Moore would beat Basilio,
but anything less gets outpointed by Carmen.

The best version of Duran edges out a competitive decision against Basilio in a barnstormer. Duran: close UD.

Great match. Duran of Montreal wins.
Most of Duran's fights at higher weights, he would have lost if he fought the same way vs Basilio.
