So after Pauli totally dominated Ndou, how this win reflects on Cotto.......
Pauli will continue to show he is a very good fighter, and the win will continue to show that Cotto is a great fighter.

The Malignaggi win becomes even more impressive after his domination of N'Dou to capture a 140 pound belt. Cotto showed he was able to deal with the speed of Malignaggi which impresses me.

How does it reflect? Very well, Malignaggi boxed impressivly and won every round against N'dou. N'dou is a very tough fighter , but Paulie was just too fast.

I think it gets both fighters more respect for the Paulie-Cotto fight. Now, people don't as feel weird admitting that Paulie won about 5 rounds out of that fight, and Cotto gets proper credit for putting a beating on a very slick fighter.
Also, it helps out Paulie's credibility that he was able to come out a better fighter after he fought Miguel- and that's no small feat. It would've been easy to write off Malignaggi after that fight as a serious player at 140, and just as easy to say that Cotto sleepwalked his way to a points win over a featherfisted prospect who got thrown to the wolves too soon.
Now, I think both fighters get proper recognition and credit for that fight.

yeah yeah we get it, Cotto's da shit right now. I'd pick him over all active boxers at 147 (PBF is RETIRED).

I love that Malignaggi was talking about how, down the road, he might want a rematch with Cotto. I'd love to see it. Not any time too soon, of course, but maybe in 5 or 6 fights.

It only shows that Cotto beat a skilled fighter not a bum fighter as the morons in this forum would like to put it before and immediately after that fight.
Cotto's win over the guy can be better appreciated now.

Fucktard. This is boxing, not a streetfight.
Gotta give respect to Malignaggi. For a guy with absolutely no power - worse p4p than Ottke, IMO - he possesses enough other skills to get past that. hugely impressive, really. but the lack of power will eventually tell again - Hatton, Cotto rematch, Juan Diaz all have the ability to walk through him.
however, it reflects well on Cotto that he was able to land on this slickster.

I have to admit I thought that Malignaggi was pretty crap before the Cotto fight, but he was excellent in it and simply beaten by the better fighter, so my view changed. I honestly thought he'd beat N'dou - I didn't see it, but it sounds like he beat him a lot more comprehensively than I asumed.

Ngoudjo barely beats Bailey and Augusuts, how can he beat Mallignaggi.

Just a win over another titlist.
Let's not beat around the bush. Cotto has to thank Hatton. N'dou and Malignaggi are champs because of him and Cotto now has another two champs on his record.

Ngoudjo also beat Castillo on my card.
What the point ?
Ngoudjo can beat Malignaggi... it is just unlikely... but still :deal !

Statistic-wise, we can now say that more than one fighter became a world beltholder soon after their loss to Cotto.
Of course, as achilles pointed out, the belt is meaningless. The win itself reaffirms Cotto's ability to be able to catch up to and defeat quick boxers who rely on footwork, the jab, and getting out of the way... even those who can do it at a world-class level.

and that Cotto never destroyed Malignaggi like his fans says

whats that...it sounded like you got Miguel's Cock in your mouth
Malignaggi's win has nothing to reflect on Cotto, fights is all about matchups and syles, so quit trying to take paulie's win as a win for your boy.

O-man, you get too worked up about our boy when there's nothing to get worked up about. Achilles was saying thank Hatton for Cotto having now beaten another beltholder in Malignaggi because Malignaggi wouldn't have that belt if Hatton hadn't given it up. It's more a commentary on the sad state of boxing now with everyone getting stripped as soon as they unify. Nothing to do with a Hatton-Cotto matchup.

I didnt think Malignaggi would have much of a career after Cotto. I thought he would be damaged goods. But he proved me wrong. He is fun to watch. And I would want him to fight Cotto again some time in the future.

You are so stupid. Why are you asking a question that is answered in the post you are quoting :patsch
Here it is again for you. N'dou and Malignaggi are champs because of Hatton.
I like Cotto but you are still blind to any sort of logic or truth.
The FACT remains that Hatton has beaten an all time great, Cotto hasn't.
You aren't a boxing fan, you are a boxers fan. As long as your pathetic love and hatred for boxers exist then your worth as a fan is zero.

Why do people claim tszyu is an alltime great ? I'm baffled ... his greatest win was against judah ... which is a great win but its not enough to be considered an all time great....
wins over mitchell ?
his beating at hands of hatton ? quitting ?
getting knocked out by phillips ?
beating old a$$ chavez ?
maybe its just me but i feel tszyu is severely overrated !

So you think Cotto's win over Zab is better? I truly think Paulie will end up having a better career than Zab.

At 147 I don't think so but at 140 I would favor Paulie. I think Paulie is almost as quick but a better defensive fighter and has a better chin as well.

You are working in hindsight.
Tszyu was a 3 to 1 underdog v Judah and expected to lose the rematch to Mitchell. Both were obliterated. Couple in his longevity, dominance, defences, etc and you have a great fighter. A top 10 at 140.
You feel Tszyu is overrated in hindsight. Sometimes hindsight can be an eye opener to certain issues but sometimes it allows people to forget the truth.
Tszyu is great for much the same reasons that Larry Holmes is.

Like I said in a different topic thread if Cotto was not struggling making the 140 limit he would have gave Paulie a worst beating but he didn't because he left all his energy in training.I feel that Cotto should haved moved up on weight 4 fights before he made his debut at 147.But Paulie just might be the man now at 140.good for him because it takes a real man to step in the ring
and it makes you better than most when you win a world title
