May have been done as tribute to the round by round in the general forum.

Anyone here see the fight? From what I've heard, it was like the Andrade fight but with a last round stoppage.

Hmmm

I heard the exact opposite. I heard it wasnt like the Andrade fight and Kessler wasnt as dominant as his display against Librado.

Mate I didn't see it. I got up early doors to watch it on the net, but nowhere was streaming it. Had to settle for Khan v Gomez. Apparently he cruised a fair bit of it, always in control. Sartison too tough for his own good. Was stretchered away from the ring, after collapsing.

There is a link up to this fight in part on the general forum mate , kessler looked back to his best from what i saw , Sartison put up a brave effort but was over matched by what i saw , Was it Les Sherro that was going to fight Sartison a few months back ? Maybe he should have fought him instead of Kessler , i realise fighting at this level will help his career but the beating he took will probably have done him more harm than good in this instance .

I don't think he had too much trouble at all to be honest. Was never in any danger.

Chad Dawson would absolutely school the f*ck out of Mikkel Kessler. Damn i hope that fight is made sometime soon. I would love nothing more.

I'm yet to see his fight against Glengoffe Johnson, but it sounds like it was a close fight. Would've been a good learning experience for him. Hoping he can get some decent fights soon, he's a talent.

He still looked unbelievably fast in some spots, and threw some wicked combinations.

His boxing ability from the outside, his movement was all really really good. Johnson couldn't touch him from there.

What it did show though, was a weakness against effective pressure. Defensively on the inside as well, he needs to put some work in. Glen Johnson fought a very very intelligent fight, and kept his guard really high on the way in. He smothered Chad, and then went to work on the inside.

Chad showed great heart and will to win, and poved he has the mind of a champion. An excellent learning experience.

From the outside though, this guy is a weapon. Lightning handspeed for a light heavyweight. Against someone like Kessler, he would match up very very well stylistically. Kessler would be left trying to outbox a longer, bigger, faster, slicker guy, and would get totally outboxed IMO. I think it would be very dominant from Chad, and an extremely bad match up for Kess.

Diaconu could be a different story though. He can pressure, and can use his smaller stature to get inside. Very intereting clash of styles. Chad will have to improve from the Johnson fight to win this one. That said, Diaconu isn't a swarming pressure guy like Glen, and will be easier to defend against for Chad. I see Chad dominating providing he can keep his chin tucked away.

BTW, Chad won no question. I had him up by a few points from memory.

Cheers for the insight, much appreciated. I'll have to check out that fight sometime. Looking at the Light Heavy division, really, it's a pretty thin division talent wise. Diaconu has some pop, but I'd expect Dawson to get the W there. His chin could be his weakness. From what I've seen, he sometimes leaves it hanging out to be hit. I'll enjoy watching him progress though. A fight with Tarver will probably eventuate sometime soon.

Tarver would be a good match up for him. Anyone who allows him to box, will be thoroughly beaten IMO.

The guy has a LOT of talent, he just needs to get some experience. The future of the division no doubt in my mind.

I'm still waiting to get back on my site again. As soon as i can, i will start downloading some more full fights. That boxingvideosonline is where i saw the fight, but HBO deleted it :twisted:

Fortunately that guy has found a loophole somewhere, and is still posting vids. Might be worth putting a request in, because he definitely has it in his collection.
