Let's say Hopkins wins this fight tonight (which he probably will). Do you guys think he will finally retire for good? God damn the man is like 43 years old and is a living legend. Beating Wright will add to his legacy but what else is left for him? Do any of you believe he'll retire for like 6 months, come out and say that he wants a heavyweight title again?

The question should be: When is Larry Merchant going to retire?

I actually hope he never retires. In about 6 years i'd like to see him in an electric wheelchair climb a ramp into the ring to interview the fighters. They'll have to extend the time slot for the fights by about a half hour so Merchant will have enough time to ask questions and speak clearly. It would be nice to actually see him die on air while giving one of his crazy analogies. A proper end, i think.

No because after he destroys Winky and Calzaghe destroys Kessler there will be a super uber mega unification where Hopkins will cement his GOAT legacy by destroying Joe.
GOAT in terms of P4P? Let's say Hopkins does beat winky and then beats Calzaghe, will he be greater than Robinson?

I'm talking about GOAT at middleweight though technically his last few fights would have been super middle and maybe higher so let's say greatest at 160-175lbs
that would be light heavyweight.

No.
Between 160-175 think Archie Moore & Ezzard Charles.
I'm not a fan of RJJ, but he has a more impressive resume than BHop b/w 160-175 for sure.
At 160 I'd put Hagler, Monzon, and SRR ahead of BHop.

And after that he will move down to Welter to beat PBF and finishes with a win over Wlad in 2009 :D
Haha, thanks a lot man.
