Was french heavyweight jean chanet a late starter to boxing or did he just turn pro late.

I believe Chanet used to fight as a semi-pro (as you used to be able to under the French system), also taking into account his upbringing I think he also fought as a tough man.

A limited fighter who made the most of what he had, as Derek Williams found out, and he also toughed it out with Lewis. Shame some of his fans were without class as Horace Notice found out...

Notice was in Williams corner for their second bout (I think), and all hell broke loose in the crowd, Notice was attacked (bottled I believe), leading to an eye injury, that meant Horace had to retire.
