:yep BHOPS got schooled and ducked the RJJ rematch. RJJ has the better overall competition and beats anyone BHOPs has ever beaten (in his prime).
RJJ is shot but would still beat BHOPs today :yep

there is a reason that they never had a rematch.........Cuz Hopkins never wanted one.....If he took a fight with Roy now, to me that would tell us alot about Hopkins.
Im not going to go into all the he said she said, im going to make one statement about the whole who didnt want to fight and Im done its been beat to death he over and over again.
Hopkins took 30% for a fight with Tito
hopkins took 25% for a fight with Oscar
Hopkins fought Wright at 170
Hopkins didnt ask Tarver to fight at a catchweight
My statement is this, Hopkins has shown thoughtout his career a willingness to compromise EXCEPT when it came to a rematch with Jones, Why is that?? It to me shows a guy that didnt want that fight.
He asked for 6 million he got it, then he said it had to be 50/50, Wanted to fight for the titles at 175 but wanted Jones to come in at 164 not even a catchweight when you think Jones 175, hopkins 160.

Well I could mention BHOPs still believes Roy can still beat him. Want proof - BHOPs said he would fight RJJ for a 60-40 split, Roy said the winner gets 60 the loser gets 40 - BHOPs wouldn't accept the terms. If he was so sure he'd win he would have.
Why do I think RJJ beats
RJJs speed of foot and hand would be too much for Hopkins. RJJ would beat BHOP to the punch. Old Roy Jones has a problem with pressure but Hopkins no longer brings pressure and RJJ will outwork him. RJJ is the better boxer and the bigger puncher, BHOPs is the better headbutter and grappler but that won't be enough.
PS Hopkins ducked Calazage too

Thread starter sounds scared and unsure as if he's trying to convince himself more than us.
Face it Hopkins destroyed the 2 guys that put Roy in a 15 minute coma and Hopkins would destroy Roy now and probably KTFO him.
Yea thats why BucktoothHops asked for 6 million for the fight got it and then turned it down, thats why he said it had to be 50-50 and Jones had to come in at 164, thats why he wouldn't take winner of RJJ-BuckHops takes 60%
FACE IT RJJ WHOOPED YOUR BUCKY BOY AND BUCKY DOESN'T WANT NONE OF A SHOT RJJ COZ BUCKY CALLS SHOT RJJ - 'PAPPA'

Hopkins KTFOs RJJ today. And the Hopkins that RJJ beat was still inexperienced and not quite primed, but i do agree that RJJ prime4prime beats Hopkins.

BucktoothHops actually had as much experience as RJJ when they fought, he also had loads of amateur fights
RJJ still beats bucktooth because of styles

"whooped"?
Hardly.
That description would be when Barrera nearly beheaded your private bitch Naz with left hooks.
The judges had RJJ beating BHOPS 116-112, they had Barrera beating Naz 115-112 - thanks for proving my point
BTW Naz is far better P4P than BucktoothHops - he beat better featherweights than Buck beat middles

Hopkins is way ahead of Naz p4p. Way ahead.
NO NO NO, Naz cleaned out a featherweight division far better than the shitty middleweight. BoringHops didn't need to clean out the middleweights - everyone good left to fight at SuperMiddleweight or LightHeavy.
Naz was more dominant and devastating against his superior comp compared to BoringHops sleepathons against journeymen, super feathers and welterweights.

Roy said 60/40 and I'lle beat your ass! how is that ducking? ducking is justifying why you deserve 50/50 to a man who beat you and has more belts at more weight divisions and more impressive KO's. hopkins needs to get real!

I disagree that he beats Hop today, but overall I agree with what he is saying. Prime for prime Roy gives him an assbeating just like he did when they were both young.jones beat hopkins when they were young but you would call it an "assbeating"? jones clearly won but it wasnt as domianant as an assbeating. someone already posted the score 116-112. you have to understand jones barely lost any rds back then. hopkins sure as hell did better then toney did.

Was in no way an ass whipping. Not even close....however, Jones was winning nearly every round before he hurt his hand noticably in the 6th or 7th round. He stopped throwing it, as noted by the commentators.
Hopkins would beat Jones easily now.

Hopkins would beat Jones easily now.true, he did have a broken hand. but it still wasnt no ass beating. if they fight now, hopkins would be the favorite but hopkins is not a pressure fighter so it wont be as easy as some think.

I dunno.....Jones backing into the ropes so often would lead me to believe that Jones gets beaten easily.
But you put them in the ring together in late 2001, and I think Jones beats him just like he did in 93'.

I think the Roy Jones of today would still beat Hopkins. Jones would still be to fast for old man Hopkins.

Ya'll seem to forget that Bernard is a very very good pressure fighter when he wants to. In fact, Hopkins has fought more fights as a pressure fighter than as the slick counterpuncher he has displayed in recent years.
