I dont know but it seems that maybe you could drink too much water in the sense that the treatment chemicals used to make tap water could stick to you, maybe?
but from everything I hear water itself is not something that you can have too much of

Yes it is possible to drink too much water. You can die from drinking too much as it saturates the cells in the body as the kidneys cannot process it fast enough. This leads too the brain swelling and puts pressure on areas of the brain which could impare vital bodily functions. But we are talking huge amounts here in a short time frame.
Too much water can flush nutrients, especially calcium out of your body.
to much before training can fill you up and make you sick when doing intense workouts

you can hurt yourself with too much of anything, water included. 2 gallons has killed someone before [Only registered and activated users can see links] but if you drink it throughout the day without chugging the whole thing then you should be fine if you're as active as you say you are.

.............Hyponatremia can indeed kill you. I don't think two gallons a day will do the trick, but it's still more than you need.
