That kid impressed the hell out of me with his beautiful smooth boxing style the combos and footwork. I havent seen a guy like that
in years....does anyone else see that cause I dont think anyone has picked up on how impressive this kid looked last night.

The Japanese (TEIKEN) must be doing something right with these Venezuelan boxers.

First Valero and now Linares.

I would love if they did the same with some Argentine fighters :thumbsup

He didn't fight Amonsot, he fought Oscar Larios who is ATLEAST a B level fighter! GREAT win by Linares!!!!!!!

I was very impressed but I need to see some more of him. Quite frankly larios looked like complete shit. He was throwing sloppy looping punches with absolutly no power on them. I need to see more of linares to be sure that he is really that good and it wasn't just an off night for larios

I think he was the stuff to be a great champion. I was impressed with his counter-punches, even though he was backpeddling he still got in some decent shots, goes to the body well and he's only 21 yrs old. I hope he works on his defence and limits the # of punches taken; he took a few unnessesary shots from Larios. Also, I thought he finished Larios off nicely, sort of reminded me of the Ali-Foreman finish, great stuff, he definetly made me a fan last night.

Exactly. Linares looked very good last night and Larios is a proven veteran. It's just that Larios looked a bit sloppy as you say and has likely seen better days.. I'd like to see some more of Linares before proclaiming him a future great. But for now I am impressed with his handling of Larios, even if he has slipped, at the age of 21. He has a bright future. But how bright? I'm not sure yet.

Linares is the real deal. I want to see him fight (well beat) Chris John. He has the tools to be the lineal champ at featherweight, no doubt about it.

he is good, My only concern would be if a big puncher got in his chest..his defense is not all that I can see. somebody catching him...but he will be elite....

Fairly impressed with this kid. His biggest flaw in my eyes is the lack of a sharp, crisp jab. If he has one, he didn't use it much against Larios. Luckily, he's young and he can work on that flaw.
What really impressed me is his body punching, which was terrific. It definitely slowed Larios down a lot.

Need to see more...maybe against someone who isnt shot. He slightly resembles a wolf man tho so the future looks good.

I thought he was excellent, in complete control of his skills and calm in the face of a constant pressure fighter. He was very smooth and I've got to disagree with some of you guys because I thought his defense was very good considering the type of opponent he was facing.

A+

That was a very impressive performance.

Again I was one of those picking Larrios to win by UD because of championship fights experience . . . but damn this guy who has only 23 fights coming into this one showed coolness under attack. He was completely in control of his game not yielding under pressure and picking his shots, he has an excelent defense that made Larrios missed his flurry of punches.

What else can you ask for . . . for a guy with only 23 fights? :yep :D
