Frankly, I think Liston probably had modest taste in sandwiches. He was a poor kid from the south, and had to share whatever scraps there were with his siblings. In those days, and under those circumstances, chickens were easy to raise, and quite often, scraps from other live stock such as liver, hearts and other giblets were easier to come by than cuts of tenderloin and other more coveted parts of an animal. Likewise, freshly baked bread was not so readily available to the poor, as they often made biscuits.
CONCLUSION: If Liston were alive today, his preference would probably lead him to a McDonald's drive through, where he'd probably select a southern style chicken biscuit.

Chicken biscuit? Little tip, don't mix your sweets and your savouries, it's like mixing radials and cross ply, you just don't do it.

A chicken Biscuit is a current item that is available at McDonald's restaurants in the US. It does not posses any sweet flavors whatsoever.
