Do I detect a stoppage here? Within 10 it seems- opinions welcome.

I agree in that it won't last 10 rounds. Gontsa won't engage, but will still suffer a stoppage loss. Just look at the odds: these guys are worlds apart. Baysangurov is much bigger and too strong for this poor Moldovan kid.

I made an interview with him once, it was published on ESB front page

punchmaster, I cannot send PM's at this forum as I don't have 50 messages. Considering where you are coming from, what do you wanna know about Zaurbek? I reckon I can provide you with all information you might need.

Well is baysangurov an agressive guy that wants the stoppage... or will he cruise and be okay with a win.? Thanks lolomoko

He is in the ring with only one mission: to destroy a man in front of him. Very agressive, punches hard, always throws punches with bad intentions. His jab is not a jab but a real power punch that does a lot of damage. He fights like a white Mexican. He would be big in the US. I hope his next fight will be at least an eliminator, if not a world title shot.

He did have a poor showing against Hussein Bayram though.

But he got the job done tonight- RTD 7 against someone who's never been stopped. Anyone see it?

I watched this fight from ringside. Like I said before, Gontsa was grossly overmatched. In round 2 Ivan was knocked down, and it looked like the fight is about to end. But Gontsa showed tremendous will and heart and just didn't want to quit. In round 3 or 4 Baysangurov suffered a deep cut over his right eye caused by a clash of heads. But still Zaurbek chased his opponent inside the ring. In round 6 it appeared that Baysangurov broke Gontsa's nose with one of his power rights. After round 7 Gontsa's corner decided to quit because they didn't want their guy to take all that beating. Gontsa has to be respected for his heart, but he was no match to Zaurbek, as he hardly won a single round. Speaking of Baysangurov, I would rate his performance a solid B, because I know he is capable of much more than he showed in this fight.

That headclash is bad news for Jamie Moore , as he's been waiting ages for his mandatory shot at Baysangurov .
The winner of Baysangurov-Moore will probably get a World title eliminator or if it's Moore who wins and Duddy manages to win a belt those two will be matched together .

To tell the truth, Moore could have fought Baysangurov starting from this March, after both Jamie and Zaurbek have recovered from their respective surgeries. But Team Moore opted to take 2 tune-up fights and postponed the date for late September. The fight with Baysangurov could have easily happened on 12th of July in Hamburg, as a week earlier Jamie fought a bum in Ireland for meaningless title. There would have beeen no problem with Zaurbek fighting Moore instead of Gontsa in Hamburg.
Now, Zaurbek is poised to fight in an eliminator to become a mandatory challenger for a world titlist. If this for some reason doesn't happen, Baysangurov will fight Moore, but Moore should be prepared to travel to Kiev. I think the place of fight will be decided by the winner of the purse bids. Of course, Baysangurov can travel to UK fighting Moore on his home soil of Manchester or Wigan, but for that to happen Team Moore has to come up with a sizeable and meaningful money offer.
My opinion: Team Moore will make a big mistake by facing Zaurbek. Of course, it will be a great fight (or at least it looks so on paper), but if Moore really wants to fight for a world title, he better do so without facing Baysangurov in the ring.

The young Chechen will have to travel to England to face Moore there in his backyard. The English fight fans will have the pleasure to watch a very promising fight. Baysangurov is the real deal.Moore will meet his match IMO.

Interesting fight. Should take place in early November. Doesn't make a lot of sense for Baysangurov, but will Moore take advantage of the home turf? We'll see.

I hope he gets to fight for the vacant title against Piccirillio, some may feel it would be harsh on Baysangurov but that's the second time he's pulled out of a fight with Moore while Moore was mandatory and you can't expect a man to wait forever.
Have Moore v Piccirillio for the title, the winner have a short period of time to make a voluntary defence if they want to(maybe 10/11 weeks), and then have them face Baysangurov as mandatory.

Well, my guess is that EBU won't strip Baysangurov. And Moore vs Baysangurov happens in November in UK, given that Frank Maloney secures a TV deal for this fight.

EBU has decided to give both teams time till Tuesday next week to come to agreement. If not, the purse bids will take place in the shortest time.
So, the fight will happen, apparently in November. I think the place will be determined by the winner of the purse bids, and personally I am not sure that Maloney will win the right to stage this fight. Don't be too surprised if the fight ends up being made somewhere in Germany or even Russia.

Baysangurov's camp remove him from purse bids and he vacates the European title. Unless he gets himself a World title eliminator it would seem like they don't fancy fighting Moore.
